10. Meta Knight (Kirby Superstar)
If I'm not mistaken, Meta Knight first appeared in Kirby Superstar on the SNES (which is a seriously awesome game). His story was by far the most fun mini-story in the game. The reason I rank him this high is because Meta Knight is just plain cool! He's ominous, badass looking for a Kirby character, and he's tough! I will admit that adding him to Super Smash Brothers Brawl renewed my love in him and made him even more popular than ever. In the Kirby Superstar DS port, they included a new minigame where you get to play as him, too and it's really fun! So, Meta Knight gets #10 because he's cool.
9. Sigma (Megaman X series)
I have never even once beaten Sigma on the first try in ANY of the various Megaman X games that he's been in and I consider myself like a Megaman expert. He's soooooooooooooooo hard to fight. He always has multiple forms too, so if you take a lot of damage in the first stage of the fight with him, then you might as well just die on purpose and start over without wasting your enery tanks. His story is that he's like a corrupt viral robot that corrupts other robots and leads the army of mavericks/reploids/whatever they're called to destroy anyone who stands in their way. Pretty simple, right? No matter how many times you kill him, he always comes back. Though, I'm pretty sure they're not making any more Megaman X games so we've probably seen the end of Sigma, but I'm ok with that. The Megaman X games took a turn for the worse starting at about Megaman X5 (some argue Megaman X4, but I really liked that game) Megaman X6 and X7 were abominations, but Megaman X8 wasn't so bad for what it was. X2 is clearly the best.
8. Pokey (Earthbound)
Pokey (or Porky as he's called in the Japanese version) is your next door neighbor. He's kind of a bully though. He's too much of a wuss to try and be the hero, but he follows you around and tries to show you up every chance he gets all while throwing lame insults which are hilariously delicious. He becomes the leader of a cult, a corporate executive, and Giygas's MAIN VESSEL OF EVIL!!!!!! He becomes corrupted with evil, yet his personality is still unchanged which I love. The battle with Pokey is actually the first stage of the battle with Giygas because you battle Pokey along side of Giygas. This is probably the easiest part of the battle, but it's what you've been waiting for the entire time. You've wanted to kick Pokey's ass for being such an annoying jerk the entire game and here's your chance. He battles you in his mecha spider (pctured on the right), but he is fairly easy. After you take him out, he turns off the Devil's Machine that was holding Giygas's evil energy in it and Giygas is unleashed! Then when you destroy Giygas, Pokey runs like a little bitch like he always does.... I love him. The battle music is also SO EPIC!!!!!! So here it is in youtube form:
