I don't know the ins and outs of the effects of a scorpion bite, but yes, it could be the scorpion bite at EX where Erinn gleefully sends him(Can't wait) PLUS doing that IC where he falls....

But wait!

Have they EVER started an IC in the middle??? Nevair!!! So it might continue while Coach is writhing on the floor or not. De-railing an IC like this is something SEG would NOT want to do.

They set positons before they officially start many challenges, including the Pole challenge this year. What we see is after some type of action. I see some concern, but not much urgency.

This is after the clip in which he "selects" the stick to be his cane, and is shown after he is helped up.

I don't see this at all. The "Pat Benatar", the "Martyr" and the "that's harsh" comments all come at the end of the RC. "Hit me with your best shot" suggests that Erinn wins the RC and Coach knows that he's going to exile. Coach making a cane at exile suggests that he has played up some injury during the RC which gets the "don't send the injured guy to exile" scene where Erinn calls him out on his martyrdom. Erinn's comment to Taj at the water happens while Coach is at exile. Coach's collapse at the IC could be real or could be fake in order to try and stay in the game. Erinn's victory in the IC seals Coach's fate.

Wait. Erinn's comments to Coach have Coach with his hair back which is during RC time which includes the hit me with your best shot and that's kind of harsh comments

Coach's hair is down with buff at IC time which is when the cap just posted shows the cane. (Plus his hair is down (though no buff on his head) when talking to S/JT.

Erinn has her buff on her head at the RC when she makes the martyr comment and it is around her neck at the IC challenge so the comments are made at the RC either before or after (note that they don't have those colored blindfolds when Erinn and Coach exchange words and the arrival shot shows them not having them either. Obviously they could have all taken their blindfolds off after the RC as well but the Erinn/Coach exchange is definitely at the RC.)

ETA: I checked the video and Taj's orange shirt is to our right in the video but I believe she is standing to Erinn's left in the arrival shot so probably this occurs after the RC

I watched also Erinn commenting to Taj about hating for anything she said would send her home before Coach - same outfit and hair as RC and Taj is wearing her orange shirt so I think this talk happens after the RC

The shots of her while the voice over says she has lost ground are probably after the IC b/c her buff is around her neck/has braids which is what she looked like at the IC

I totally agree.

Stephen's comments about feeling sorry for the guy and his discussion with Coach has to be after IC, though. With Coach on Exile Stephen wouldn't have had a chance before then. Isn't Coach crouching down then? If so, his 'injury' can't have been that bad.

I yeild to Madame Pez the resident hair expert.... but they are jogging through the maze at a slow rate. I don't see anyone getting hurt seriously during the RC. I'd guess Coach concocts his scorpion bite or other odd injury on EI.

It's probably unrealistic to parse the wording of CBS too closely, but I did notice two things--the reeling castaway is not the castaway with a bizarre approach. And it's a bizarre approach TO Exile Island which is polarizing.

It's hard to see who would be reeling from a shocking betrayal after TC other than Coach.
If so, then "another castaway" would seem to be Erinn who takes a bizarre approach to choosing. She sends Coach and her approach is polarizing (maybe the polarization is increased by Coach's dramatics acourse).

For one thing, sending Coach violates Stephen's strategy. That would be polarizing within the alliance. Obviously she's also fairly vicious, prompting the conversations.

Also Stephen might be sorry for him because Coach has never been on a reward and obviously isn't this time. Might not be overtly the bite, injury, etc. at the moment of that confessional.

And it all might be there as an effort to create some suspense that it might be Erinn going rather than Coach.

Going with Debbie's comment that they should have kept her instead, it could just be that Erinn creates so much dissension in the camp that they should have kept the pleasant Debbie rather than the apparently unpleasant and smelly Erinn with the burning hair extensions.

So, let's say the reward is a trip to a Brazilian jungle zipline (or something that requires going somewhere), and the winner chooses to exile himself. Would he them get to pick an extra person to go on the reward in his place, or would the person he picked just go alone? Not that I'm saying Coach wins and exiles himself (I'm not sure either way at this point), but it was just something I wondered when pondering the whole martyr thing.

So...Coach is on Exile totally uninjured, he makes himself a Dragon Cane (lolol) comes back for the IC and pretends that he got injured on Exile. He bravely says he will do the IC possibly thinking 'Well if Erinn says I was a martyr before I may as well act it up now'. He collapses in a heap at some stage, possibly the right near the end because they're all helping him up (I can NOT imagine Erinn jumping down from her spot to help him and she's there too) and his cunning ruse works on the men ("people are so dumb in this game") but not the women. Unfortunately there's more men than women so Erinn goes home.

I did forget that Stephen and JT always tell Coach what he wants to hear, but I think I'd rather see them get faked out by someone themselves before they got to the end of the game.

We see Coach sitting next to someone (either Stephen or JT) at the IC apparently they did not leave the apparatus all at once to tend to an injured Coach - see mahdoo's pic above . Coach apparently doesn't win IC. He either cumpled after the challenge, or when they were setting up the competitors before they officially started.

I think an Erinn boot is quite possible.
