When we saw Jacob weaving the threads tonight, did anyone else think of the Fates from Greek mythology weaving the threads of fate? In particular (for the
video game nerds) I really thought of God of War II when the final sister of the three Fates is weaving all of the threads of destiny on her loom...

Oh, in another Juliet-Variable connection, her detonation of the bomb mirrors Desmond's Failsafe turn at the end of S2. (Hell, was the failsafe he turned
Jughead?)

Awesome ending to the season. Loved the inverted logo at the end!! Just a couple of things...

Re: Flannery O'Connor
Her work is most often spiritual in nature, and also quite violent (the actual story Everything That Rises Must Converge is fairly brutal). It is also, quite often about religious hypocrisy. Seems a bit relevant to the overall story, here. |

This show really pisses me off sometimes.ditto. so much to hate lately. *sigh* I honestly just don't know whether I'm gonna buy season 5 on dvd or whether I'll watch season 6. (oh, who am I kidding? I'll watch season 6) Right now, I feel like they have broken my heart.... and pissed me off. |

When Ben was talking to Jacob, didn't it look like they were morphing young Ben's face into old Ben's face as he spoke?

I think the reason Jacob appeared to everyone was because everything he said to them nudged them into doing what they did this episode which inevitably ends up
with them all agreeing to set off the bomb. Upon doing so, they never land on the island, Locke never ends up dying, and Smokey can't get Ben to kill
Jacob.
So Smokey had his plan to kill Jacob, and Jacob had his plan to change the past to his benefit. Maybe? eta to fix a mixup in names. |

True, managerr. Actually the way I watched this was kinda cool, i live on the east coast but work nights, and have a friend who lives on the west coast, so i
started watching at midnight and called her after each break and we were like "wtf, what is in that metal box? wtf why wasn't jacob in the juliet
flashback etc etc"
FUCK WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL ENERO |

I can't believe people are bummed out by the finale. I loved every minute of it. Even if the Jacob vs. Antijacob is the broader picture of it all, I
don't think I'd be bummed out. But Jacob said something about "the story only ends once," which is where I believe our Oceanic people come
into play.

I love how we start off and it's a show about a few plane crash survivors, and each season it gets bigger and broader to the point that it's a very battle between a good and evil that has existed for eons. I love this show. I want to hump the TV and make little Lost babies with it. I just wish we had a slight more sense where we're headed next. But I guess that's what the next 9 months are for. Sigh. When is comicon? |

I can't wait to see Cindy, the kids and the rest of Jacob's crew that he wanted on the island all living safely in the Temple.

That finale was sooooooooooo gooooooooood! The layers are tasty, fun, and low in calorie.
The 2010 thing made me sad, but that just leaves plenty of time to have some fun debates. |

I WONDER WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?" This one is more ominous "omg, what's going to happen next?" I don't know if any of you played the PS3 video game, but the ending to it was written by Darlton and it does hint at things to come. I'll "SPOILER" the rest of my post, even though it's not a spoiler and is speculation based on something already released by the show. |

Anyone else get an Obi-Wan Kenobi vibe from Jacob during his final scene with Ben and NotLock? I felt like he knew what was coming and
allowed himself to be taken down.

LOL and I love Jack's "drop a nuke down a hole and stare down after it". ETA: I'm glad that doe-eyed retard Juliette is dead. Although I'm sure she'll still be around in flashbacks.

If Horace was killed in the purge (years after this incident) how could he have been at the drilling site for the incident?
Assuming everyone within a moderate radius was instantly killed when the bomb went off. |
