There was a story in the Tribune on these two and I was struck by the blatant racist tone of their plan. The article was like four full pages and she kept blathering on about supporting only black businesses and decrying the fact that there were so few black owned businesses in her traditionally black neighborhood and how she is attempting to get others to not go to the local shops run by people of other races so they can basically put them out of business. She then wants one of her "people" to take over and run the business.

I recall her saying she drives from the near South side out to Rockford to get her clothes drycleaned -- that is like a 120 mile roundtrip to support the cause. They had pictures of the grocery store that she now shops at -- I believe it was in Harvey (spooky) and it resembled a general store in the middle of nowheresville where the canned goods probably date back to 1970.
