Survivor 1: Borneo: Gervase and Ramona were on Pagong; Survivor II: Australia: Nick and Alicia were on Kucha; Survivor 3: Africa: Clarence (whose last name was Black...); Survivor 4: Marquesas: Sean and Vecepia ("Vee") were on Maraamu; Survivor 5: Thailand: Ted and Ghandia were on Chuay Gahn; Survivor 6: The Amazon: JoAnna; Survivor: Pearl Islands: Osten and Tijuana ("T") were on Morgan; Survivor: All-Stars: Alicia; Vanuatu: Rory; Palau: Jolanda and Ibrehem were on Ulong; Guatemala: n/a ; Panama/Exile Island: Cirie; Cook Islands: Sekou, Stephannie, Nate, Rebecca, and Sundra were on the Hiki (African American tribe) during the season when the contestants were assigned to tribes based on their ethnicities; Fiji: Erica(spelling?) and "Dreamz" were on opposite tribes; the contestants (Sylvia) picked their/her own tribes in the beginning; and the final 3 consisted of Earl, "Dreamz," and Cassandra, three African American contestants; also, "Dreamz" and Cassandra started the game on the same original tribe, Moto; China: James; Micronesia/Fans vs. Favorites: James; Gabon: Crystal; Tocantins: Candace, Jerry, and "Taj."

Posts: 158 (05/12/09 1:29 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Linda was on Samburu in Africa away from Clarence, and the contestants picked their own tribes in Palau. So since season 7 the producers haven't gone out of their way to make sure African Americans were on the same tribe.

I think it's unusual that they assigned Sherea and James to opposing tribes in a season in which the producers decided who should be members of which tribe. He commented/observed that 5 out of 7 contestants, as of that season, who won the final Immunity Challenge did not win the game/title of Survivor/million dollars/whatever is left after taxes (like Lill). When you think about it, 5 out of 7 is not that significant.

It holds true for 9/11 seasons where there were 2 African-Americans. (Borneo, Australia, Marquesas, Thailand, Pearl Islands, Palau, Exile Island, Micronesia and Gabon) Africa and China are the only exceptions. Obviously the producers didn't pick all these, but it's still a weird coincidence.

Does not hold true for Africa, China, EI, Tocantins. Tribe picks pre-switch: 2/3 Holds true for Thailand & Palau. Does not hold true for Fiji. Overall for tribes before a switch: 8/13 Tribes after a switch: 2/7 Holds true for Marquesas & EI. Does not hold true for CI, Fiji, China, Micronesia & Tocantins. In short, this topic is stupid.
