Did he hurt anyone's feelings? Corinne, on the other hand was vindictive little bitch, Did coach berate everyone with his anger? Nope.

Yes, I have read some of his other interviews and as trackfinder pointed out, he does articulate his idea about Survivor very well. It is also clear that some of his "behavior" was because he realized being "out there" and creating this persona would give him more camera time. And how phony is that? S So what is his deal at the Ponderosa? Did he think this is part two of the game? He needed to get over it because he lost. Finally, how can you hate someone has a life that is so lacking that the only "loved ones" you ever see him talking to are his [former] "assistant coaches"? I don't hate him, I pity him. He doesn't have a life, he has a fractured fairy tale.

He's surprisingly down to earth (at least, relatively speaking). He admits wholeheartedly that his gameplay sucked. He said he wasn't playing the same way everyone else was. He said he wanted to play with honesty and integrity and character, and to him, that meant buildng an alliance of strong players and remaining loyal to them till the end (Tyson and Debbie, later adding Stephen and JT). In his mind, the unethical way to play is to be sneaky and change your gameplan in the middle (which is essentially adaptation, the biggest goal of Survivor). While I don't agree with his game strategy, I think that in some ways we can seperate his gameplay ideology (integrity of maintaining loyalty to a strong alliance) from his obsession with mythology and ancient warrior/tribal cultures. In this video, he doesn't use any of that same verbage (dragonslayer, warrior, samurai, apache, etc etc) the way he did while playing the game. While I still laugh at him, this video (which was shot this week, as opposed to the final words and Ponderosa stuff) made me have a little bit more respect for him. Coach wanted strong players to make it far in Survivor, instead of the weak being rewarded for their weakness by taking out all the threats. He just got that "honesty, integrity" business mixed up with his adult version of Cowboys & Indians, creating this imaginary world that we have come to know as "Coach." Coach made the same mistake many players do...he forgot the outwit, outplay..outlast....he as many do think physical strength is the be all that ends all....and while he was busy with his "warrior alliance" the others voted him out

I feel bad sometimes that people let themselves get exploited on "reality" tv. He was a freak, but also relatively harmless. And I wonder how he'll have handled watching the show. in true editing style, they made us feel bad for him on his final episode. I understand they have to sign things that basically say cbs has the right to edit and portray them however they want, regardless of what it does to their reputation. cbs made good money off him this season.

The fact was is that coach was self-absorbed with his "conception" of how the game "should" be played and unlike his self-proclaimed gift of superior "intuition", he didn't even consider that others may not be using his playbook. And to his credit or discredit (depending is you think Coach's "persona" shown on the game was sincere or made-to-order television gold) he never went outside his game-play to evaluate the "opposing team." LOL I can't believe that he ever got to be even a semi-successful as a coach with that mindset. As to his more recent interviews, I see that his goal after losing 60 pounds (now he claims that he weighed 205 when starting Survivor, not the 185 that the medic said his starting weight was when she weighed him in at the Ponderosa after he was voted out) is to be interviewed by People magazine about his experiences and to get his own reality show all the while stating that he is "God's child" and that everything he has done has been to get closer to God. I guess the guy can't help himself and must be a compulsive liar...He's so bad, he can't even keep his own story straight. People in the past have complained that CBS has sought out mactors for reality shows, well at least mactors own up to their intentions. Coach's fabrications (lies) make JFP look like a choirboy in comparison.
