Quote: And his storyline also died when Mr. Cooper died. He's connected with the island. He's found his specialness. He's overcome the others, and he got revenge on his father. What's there left to do with Locke? Nothing, really. It makes sense...I should really dig up that death theory thread of mine. |

Since the latest TVGuide says he's in the finale, I suspect he's not dead...but he's now ZombieLocke who drinks the blood of the ones who are killed in the finale.

Still holding out some hope for a living Locke.
"What lies in the shadow of the statue?" "The one who will save us" (or however it translates). Well, right now, Locke's corpse lies in the shadow of what was the statue. |

Jacob lives underneath the statue. Isn't that what it meant? Locke's corpse isn't laying in any shadow right now, as it is night time.
I think Locke is dead. |

I really hope he can brought back to life somehow. Otherwise, he's had the saddest life of just about anyone ever. He finally thought he had found his
purpose in life on the island and it turns out he was just used as a pawn to be lied to and killed. I still have hope since Jacob visited him in the past.
That makes me think that's he's going to be important to the end game. I just hope his importance was not simply dying so that Jacob's Enemy would
use the form of his body...

Think about this:
Nothing about Locke is special. Richard has pointed that out more than once. The only reason Richard ever even heard of him was because he traveled in time. |

He was touched (possibly resurrected) by Jacob and was a crippled man who could instantly walk again the minute he landed on the island - I'd say that
makes him pretty special.

"What lies in the shadow of the statue?"Seeing that word bolded makes me wonder if we're interpreting it correctly. Could it be that the question is asking what is telling untruths in the shadow of the statue? Damn, something else to wonder. |

I think that would be, "Who lies..." and of course, that would be Ben.

But we already know that the answer is "He who will save/protect us all."

This is open to speculation still, but I think most agree that the answer refers to Jacob.

I liked the finale's plot twist, but I'm disappointed with where it leaves John Locke. I'm a huge fan of the character and this twist is kind of a
kick in the balls to all his fans. He never received a dramatic send-off like so many other characters and seeing his body kind of puts an anticlimactic
footnote onto an earlier episode. John Locke has always been subservient to coercion, but he had the promise of overcoming his earlier adversity and becoming
something special. After five years of buildup, we see that his destiny was just to die and his appearance is now being used by a demonic spirit?!?! He was
just a tragic pawn all along to a larger scheme?!?! I really don't accept that.
I'm very confident that the real John Locke will have a role in the sixth season. In the finale, there was a conversation between Richard and Jack about Locke. Richard mentioned that he didn't see anything special in Locke, but Jack told him that he shouldn't give up on him. I think that's a subtle nudge to the audience. The audience is expected to give up on Locke, but he still has a part to play. Let's look at the clues… In a flashback, Jacob took time out of his busy schedule and blessed Locke. There was absolutely no reason for that moment, unless Locke still has a vital part in Jacob's plan. (Juliet doesn't and we didn't see Jacob in her flashback.) We also saw Jacob bringing Locke back to life with a simple touch. In other scenes, we saw an image of a red herring and the mention of a "candidate". We know that Terry O'Quinn is returning next season and he would be underutilized if he's only playing the mask to a villain. |
