I think this season it was New Adventures of Old Christine/Gary Unmarried for an attempted Wednesday comedy block, but who knows what it'll be this fall. Wednesdays at 8 have been dead this season, since the big four don't air anything strong there. I don't know why nobody takes advantage of that slot, since the only competition would be ANTM.

I'm told Eye execs had one slot left, and they went with Numb3rs because it's less expensive to produce. CBS has also dropped Eleventh Hour and renewed How I Met Your Mother, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement, and Old Christine. * The CW will not be renewing Privileged for a second season. There was talk of a possible midseason berth for the much-loved dramedy, but, ultimately, the show was a casualty of the network's strong development. "It's truly heartbreaking," series creator Rina Mimoun said via e-mail. "I'm so grateful to everyone out there who supported our little show and fell in love with Megan Smith. She was the most delightful character I've ever had the pleasure to write and watching JoAnna Garcia bring her to life every day was a gift I will never forget. I'm incredibly proud of the work we did and forever indebted to all the fans, critics and to Warner Bros. for being so wonderful and supportive. I will miss this more than you know." Well then you missed Life(NBC)/Pushing Daisies(ABC)/Dirty Sexy Money(ABC)/Lost(ABC)/Life on Mars(ABC)/Criminal Minds(CBS)/The Ultimate Fighter(SPIKE)/Real World/Road Rules Challenge(MTV)/South Park(CC)/Damages(FX) I am FURIOUS that Happy Town is a mid season or summer show, it's the only new show that I was high on(its like Harpers Island).

Flash Forward looks decent but I kind of really want to see V and The Deep End which don't come on until the midseason....Community looks good as well. Since I watch absolutely nothing on Tuesdays now with Fringe gone to Thursday I will probably at least watch The Shark Tank's premier. Not sure about Wednesday, nothing looks that interesting to me. Maybe I might pick up Glee or Parenthood if they are good but neither really seem to be my kind of show. But Thursdays are crazy this fall I want to watch: Survivor Fringe Flash Forward The Office 30 Rock Parks and Recreation Community Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday Grey's Anatomy Private Practice

I read somewhere that there is interest in the books, either as a show or possibly a movie. Either way, I'd watch. (I hated the Twilight series but loved the VA books. Will anyone even remember that it is a returning show by then?? When did it become such common practice for shows to not DIE anyway? The only "recent" switches I really recall are random TGIF comedies from ABC to UPN/WB and Buffy from WB to UPN. Last season we had Scrubs go from NBC to ABC, and Friday Night Lights go from NBC to DirectTV or whatever. Now (so far) it's Medium from NBC to CBS and The Unit from CBS to Synd. Why couldn't they have been so generous when Arrested Development got cancelled.
