I haven't seen the show yet, but I've been following it via Survivor Sucks. From what I've read, neither Adam nor Kris were on their A-game
tonight, though both had moments. And certainly, the shit that Kara wrote as the coronation song did both no favors. I still think that Adam will win. I
won't really mind Kris winning, even though he wasn't one of my early choices. The best situation for them would be if both were declared co-winners of
Idol and allowed to release whatever song they damn well please as each one's "coronation song". And even though I liked Kara as a judge, as a
songwriter she really fucked it up. "No Boundaries"? Mountains? Hurricanes? Rainbow sprinkles of ennui? The guy who wrote "it was a dark and
stormy night" couldn't have come up with that shit.

God, this showcased that Allison deserved to be in the finale, in Kris's place, and she would have rocked the house. And with the way the 2 performed
tonight, she could have, honestly beat both.

After the first round I thought it was actually going to be a close competition.
From my perspective Adam owned the night. He did great on on three songs and if he can make that shitty ass winner's song sound decent then he ranks right up there with Kelly Clarkson's ability to turn A Moment Like This into something listenable. It's interesting that Simon said the purpose of the show is to find a world wide star. they've only done that once, and it was the first season and try as they might to find another one so far it hasn't worked. Carrie is a superstar within the states and for sure within Country music but outside the U.S. and maybe canada she's just the blonde chick from Idol. I missed her performance though cuz my DVR cut off but judging from the comments I didn't miss anything special. I really hope Adam wins but i'm not voting

I think Kris had the smarts to realize that two low-keyed acoustic performances wouldn't have gone over too well with the Judges or the public. He probably
figured his best plan of action was to just take his chances with the 3rd song.
If he had gotten a more agressive 2nd song (something like 'This Is Our Town' by We The Kings), I could definitley see him bringing the coronation song down to his level and doing something really great with it. Not sure who will win, I didn't get a strong vibe either way. Btw, Glee trumped the finale easy. |

Another BS ending. They couldn't get both of their chosen ones in, so they rig it so the one they don't want looks like bad karaoke trying to do a
song they know is way out of his range.
I tried to give glee a chance. 25 minutes was more than I could stand. This is the worst thing fox has done since life on a stick. Huge flaming bad of dogshit this is. Makes Cavemen look almost watchable in comparison. The only part I enjoyed was the girl getting spooshed in the face twice with red goop. Boo! |
