I think, truthfully, that the intangible Shawn had working for her was that she was the only one of the final three that anyone had ever heard of three months
ago and had an actual fan base. I think she finished very strong, but I don't think she was as good as Gilles by any stretch of the imagination; I
don't think she was as good as Lil' Kim, and I think she was roughly equivalent to Melissa. Oh, well, at least they didn't let Melissa win and then
take it back from her, and Shawn didn't lose to some Chinese 8-year old.

Jeffrey Ross is a hoot. He's very cut throat during a roast, but I think they all took it gracefully and in the spirit it was intended. I think the worst
comment was the second place remark, but it was very funny. Lil Kim just went up again in my respect because she can laugh at herself. If anyone was robbed
this season it was her. Unfortunately, she couldn't get the old lady vote.
I'm happy with a Shawn win, I think she's adorable and was entertaining to watch. All three finalists were good this year. Was this the first time there were 2 females and one male in the final? Or was Laila Ali's year 2 women also? I am surprised no one mentioned that Box-Of-Rocks is going to be on BROADWAY in Chicago.. damn, that production must be scraping the bottom to get a "name" in there. The only thing that might save her is that her lines are pre-written. I wonder if they'll dumb down her choreography? "Smoking, Croaking, and Flaming" was the best line of the night tho. |

Laila's season (S4) had her, Joey Fatone, and Apolo. I can't remember a season where there was more than one female in the finals, though.

Season 5 had both Mel and Marie as female finalists. And for everyone complaining that there are way too many male winners, we now have three consecutive vag
champs. As many male and female winners overall.

Gilles can go back to being a nobody. Melissa can do the same. Mark can boast he is a two-time champion, and Cheryl CAN NOT and WILL NOT claim she is a 3-time champion. All in all I think it was a PERFECT ending! YAY! |

It really came down to the freestyle and Shawn had the only one that was decent. Mark is to be congratulated for choreographing her to the win. While Tony is
hopeless, Cheryl can do and has done so much better than that cliched "Flashdance" routine and she basically lost it for Gilles.

Cheryl's freestyle did not cost Gilles the trophy - had he gotten a perfect 30 the extra 2 points would've only have equated to a fraction of a fraction in the overall judges scores. I'm 'ight with the outcome - hate Cheryl didn't want her to win, but I wanted Gilles to win. I wanted Tony to win, but didn't care much if Melissa did. Shawn was acceptable, but not champion material in my book - not on the dancefloor anyway. |

I think its hilarious that people think that Gilles was a cut above Shawn or Melissa. Was he a good dancer? Sure. But he wasn't a great dancer and he was
no better than Shawn, Melissa or Lil Kim. People are acting like he was Kristi Yamaguchi or something.

I'm happy that Shawn won, mostly cause Melissa or Cheryl didn't win As to all the people saying she isn't graceful etc, it's so much easier to look graceful when you're long and thin rather than short and stubby in Shawn's case. Her technique was pretty much always strong, and I think she was underscored throughout the competition - especially when you compare to Gilles. |
