A lot of people love that style of music similar to John Mayer, Jason Mraz etc. And given that Mayer and Mraz's music sounds nothing alike, I have no idea what this means. For Kris's sake, I hope his music isn't similar to Mayer and Mraz because these two men are more of a slow-burn type of artist than instant bestselling artist. If Kris doesn't want to be Taylor Hicks II in terms of sales, he'd better NOT be the new Mayer or Mraz.

When the album turns out to be another derivative crowd-pleaser reminiscent of Daughtry and Fuel, a far cry from showing the vaunted creativity of Cookie... You can write a song, but that doesn't mean people can't write over your songs and still give you writing credit.

I agree with you here, my initial statement was to someone (not you) who said that things will be fine if Kris retained "creative control"... which we know is not possible, especially not for an AI winner's debut album. Having songwriting credit is only smoke and mirror when everything else - song selection, production, art, image - is shaped by your handlers.
