"Adam's going to be the biggest most mega super star the world has ever seen and Kris will flop!" I'm not really that shocked by the result. Adam peaked halfway through the competition with Mad World while Kris silently picked up steam week after week and peaked with Heartless. Looking back its not all that surprising. Me? I'll be eagerly anticipating Allison having a better career than either of them. Also, I hope Kris winning makes these idiot judges and producers stop pimping people so hard. We all want to believe it will be our own favorite, but it's hard to tell. I personally think the added expectations of beating Adam Lambert are going to make life kind of difficult for Kris, while Adam has just gotten permission to be as weird as he wants to be... which may or may not translate into the kind of sales he would have gotten if he'd been marketed as the mainstream American Idol. So Adam may sell less than he would have as the winner, because he's got a license to be eccentric and flamboyant, and Kris may not sell as well as a tamed Adam would have. And Allison is in the pleasant situation of being a major talent who is unaffected by all this drama. Also, I hope Kris winning makes these idiot judges and producers stop pimping people so hard. Maybe next time their plan won't backfire. Boy, that would be nice. Unfortunately, if Kris doesn't sell as well as they want it may make them try to control it EVEN MORE! Oh, and I betcha no homosexual ever sees a path to the top 12 ever again.

Either there were finally two high-quality finalists this season, and/or there's such unity in Gokey hate, but in any case most fans seem pretty satisfied with the outcome. It's the behavior of the machine all season, and much of the rest of the talent, that was a problem. Tonight was fun, even for an Adam "fan". shrug

I'm all for someone like Madam Glambert winning, he def. has the charisma and "it" factor going but he really hadn't been all that great the past few weeks and had fallen into some bad vocal habits (being shriek-y)instead of progressing, while Kris progressed and peaked at just the right time. They will both do at least OK (as will Allison!).

Unsteady Rod Stewart was kind of sad 2. The Adam, Gokey medleys had to have been planned out before Gokey bit it, right? However, I really liked Kris singing with Keith Urban. 3. Lil got way too much prominence relative to her placement in the season, but I love Queen Latifah so tptb can have a pass this time 4. Megan cannot sing I wanted Adam or Allison to win, but Kris earned this win, too. Someone said earlier that it couldn't have been close because Seacrest didn't talk about how close the voting was--but last year he focused on the voting NOT being close. Poor Scott not getting a "moment." I wonder if he was having issues with his voice and they had to cut his solo out? Lastly, letting my inner Cooktard out, I wanted to punch Gokey when he started singing "Hello".

I think he put it a bit on cruise control at the end. Meanwhile, Kris s.l.o.wl.y built himself up. I've never bought an Idol track from itunes until last week. And it was Heartless. Why does there have to be animosity? Each is unique. GL to them both!
