Count me in on Team Jon.
Kate has become so ego driven. There is nothing "average" about this family. Kate is all about designer clothes, designer shoes, tanning salons and McMansions. The transformation has been startling. Sure she loves to go out on her "job" promoting her book...it feeds her ego. But who wants to watch this privileged family? We loved it when we saw them struggle as a "normal" family. They have brought this on themselves...as has TLC. I support Jon's decision to stop filming this disaster. But Kate will never agree. However, how will she go out on book promotions ect... now that all of this has happened? If anything Kate is most angry by the possibility of the gravy train stopping! |

Kate seemingly planned this birthday party after Jon went away for a few days. She could have had a party in their MASSIVE yard where no paparazzi would be
present, but she decided to make it a spectacle at a park. She decided to do it herself. She has chosen to shut out family and friends. (Where is Beth?) Jon
does need to man up. No excuse at all for cheating. Reason or not. If she's a bitch (and I think we may agree on this) then you leave her and then go
somewhere else for your needs. THing is, he's miserable and if WE could see it over the past year, how can his wife not? Why would she NOT stop the show
when her marriage is crumbling? Unless she's just that blinded by it all. She's a shrew. He's a pussy. I just hate the fact she's so fake
anymore. Last night when Joel came up and thanked her for the party, she totally ignored him the first time. THen when he said it AGAIN and the other mom
noticed she got all schmoopy. GRrrr

In this expanded 73-minute episode, however, some of the time was spent grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, but most of the time the producers were grilling Jon and Kate, who for the first time in the history of the show were filmed most of the time in separate home-sofa sessions. "It kills me," Kate said of the rumors (and truth?) of Jon's infidelity... and perhaps, allegedly, her own. "I have a lot of anger." As for Jon, he said, "I'd like to apologize to my family for my actions." Um, what actions, Jon? "Everybody knows what I'm talking about," he said sullenly. Gee, I guess it's this. The show had new cast members: "It's the paparazzi!" one of the kids squealed. "Sshhh -- don't say a word," commanded Kate. "I make [the children] call them the 'p-people,'" Kate told us, explaining she didn't want the kids yammering at school about the photographers that now follow the Gosselins' every move. I guess she thinks it's better to have the kids say, "The P-People chased us!" and really scare their friends. It's going to be interesting to see how the series settles back into its weekly half-hours of family outings and squabbles -- to see if that's even possible. Because Kate is more willing than Jon to talk, and to let the TLC cameras follow her to places such as her book signings, she came off (as she often does) slightly worse. She made a big deal over the fact that she was organizing the birthday party "alone" -- she said "alone" about six times -- because "Jon decided he needed a weekend off." You just wanted to say, "We get it! You feel you're the Wronged Woman! Aren't you savvy enough by now to know you're not winning us over?" This was especially true when she noted that "all of a sudden, your kids are calling you your babysitter's name." I could almost hear millions of viewers shouting, "So stay home!" I certainly felt sympathy for the woman, though; when she teared up during a solo-sofa taping, her exhaustion and grief was palpable. Some things never change, of course. The kids are adorable. One of them kept calling the birthday pinatas, "tinatas." And, ever the problem-child, Maddie said sulkily when it was time to take a family photo that she'd sit for "one picture, exactly." And your heart broke a bit when one of the girls hugged Jon and said, "Daddy, I don't want you to leave anymore." It looks as though Jon's
going to be in the proverbial doghouse all season.

I could see this coming from the beginning. I remember when I saw the very first one hour special several years ago. It was showed back to back with a
Duggar episode and a show about an English couple who had 2 sets of quads (I think). The contrast in the dynamics of the couples were obvious and I remember pointing it out to my husband. The English couple were both very laid back and were sitting in the middle of the floor with chaos everywhere, both smiling and saying "Isn't it great". The Duggars, as creepy as they are, were both very organized and did their chores with a good attitude and seemed to be happy. Kate on the other hand was doing her best to be organized with six babies and 2 toddlers but John was like another child, having to be told what to do at every step and sulking about having to do it. I knew from experience that both John and Kate would just come to resent each other more and more over time. |

Team Mady here!
I cannot fucking wait for her tell-all book. Best moment of the night was her fake smile and quick breakaway from the family picture. Yes, she's a brat but it's not her fault. Any one of us would be pinching those little moneymakers and knocking over their blocks too in the same situation. They've kept her from developing relationships with other people which might have given her some confidence and independence. I dislike both Jon and Kate. Neither one of them are victims in any way, shape or form. |

Have any of you purchased Season 1&2? I noticed the Disney World episode is not included but online when I check episode lists, it shows it should be on
Season 2. Luckily, I DVR'd the marathon and was able to see Kate's meltdown over the ice cream ruining the day.

Oh come one, that was a joke. Obviously if I'm here I'm also hooked on this crap. You were just so enthusiastic about what you were saying, I was
reminded of that SNL sketch... Couldn't resist.
Peace. :) |

OMG, I remember that skit on SNL with Shatner.............hilarious. I think most of us do have lives but this was a slow motion disaster and at least for me
it was hard to look away. I'm not interested in the slightest bit to watch Kate and Maddie "destress" at a luxery spa. Perfect, reward
Maddie's horrible behavior with spas treatments. I would imagine the next episodes will involve mother of the year Kate heroically saving her children
from the broken home that Jon single handedly inflicted upon them all. sheeeeeeesh.

The show should be renamed Jon and Kate plus hate.
I should be slapped but I had the marathon on all weekend. Correcting his grammer constantly made me want to shoot her. Telling him to stop breathing loudly was rediculous. Jon was a saint for living with her this long. Kate is not about to give up the money and free vacations to save her marriage. The show was cute to begin with, last night's new season was unbearable. TLC should cancel Kate's gravey train. |

Single-handedly the most uncomfortable I've been watching at TV show in a long time. As much as I love a good trainwreck - I'm not sure I'll tune
in for the rest.

I'll take a Team Jon button please and thanks. Not that I hate Kate, but I find it much easier to sympathize with Jon than I do with her.
This marriage goose is so cooked. Kinda sad. |

I was never feeling any sympathy for Kate but the moment she said she wasnt going to cry because of her make up really showed me where her priorities are.
