For me its not in the top five but in my Top Seven so I think its one of the best seasons ever! :D Top 5 if Stephen have won and Top 1 if Sandy have made the jury or f2. Posts: 56 (05/25/09 10:33 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I think it can be placed in the top tier of elite seasons (in chronological order): Borneo Australia Amazon Pearl Islands China Micronesia Tocantins I'd have it at least ranked higher than China and maybe a couple of the others, so it's probably top 5 for me. All-Stars is a love/hate season that could also be placed up there by some people. A second All-Stars should work much better. Oh and Jeff doesn't say top 5 or something close to that before every season. He gushed about this one more than most and it's clear why - Dominance of JT, noble warrior ending by taking Stephen to the end, Coach being one of the biggest characters ever on Survivor, Tyson being a great villain, Sierra being an underdog, the great comeback of the Jalapao 3 and implosion of Timbira. These are the things that Jeff and the wider audience love to see on Survivor.

I think people may have a knee-jerk reaction to dismiss Tocantins because of the inevitability of the final few episodes, but in my opinion that would be a mistake.

Posts: 67 (05/26/09 4:38 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	^ In my opinion, the winner is always a no-win situation... either it's someone who is inevitably going to win because they played the game so well, or someone whose "game-playing" involved coattail riding and just hoping and praying that the tribemembers in the majority would pick themselves off first. So it's hard, for me at least, to fault Tocantins for JT playing so well and being so well liked. And I thought almost everyone was villainous in Gabon at some point and to some degree, which was made it so interesting. Similar with Tocantins. But ohwell, each to his or her own.

Coach could have been a villain but he ended up being a huge joke. Tyson wasn't really a villain until like the final 8 and then he was blindsided. ' They built Ace up since Episode 2 as the villain so it was quite a shock when he got the boot that early.

I enjoyed almost all of it except for the Spencer/Sydney/Joe boot episodes that were some of the more boring and predictable ones in recent memory.

What, exactly, is the criteria for a "villain"? Is it always someone that the rest of the contestants hate? Is it somebody that the viewers hate? Is it merely a gung-ho personality who plays all-out to win the million dollars without remorse? I've heard the word villain tossed around so much that I don't know what exactly defines one.

Posts: 416 (05/26/09 3:34 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I did not think of coach as a villian; but he was entertaining; if not for him; this season could of been far worse. I think the best season so far was borneo...i rewatched the borneo season just a couple of weeks ago, and there was something raw that is no longer there in later survivor seasons; though i still am a fan and always will be. In later seasons, i liked amazon, pearl islands, and china....as well as Micronesia. The worst by far was survivor Thailand...there was something just boring about that season...and there was something about africa also that i found boring; but it seems like other fans liked that season so maybe it was just me. Palua i found interesting as the other tribe kept winning until the other tribe was essentially eleminated; but the second half of that season was rather boring.
