All they ever do is cover their mouths and do leg stretches, and I don't get why some people are allowed to expose their groins and it's fierce but
when others do it the judges bitch? Ew so much.

I've actually learnt quite a few moves from all these years of watching lyrical/contemporary on SYTYCD:
1) The split jump - can also be upgraded into the turn split jump
2) Spinning - either with the leg bent with one foot to one knee (pirrouette?) or where you turn your body with the other leg (fouette?). When you lose your balance or feel yourself falling, you can always flail your arms around as if you meant for it to happen.
3) The raising of the leg in the air and holding it for a set period of time or until you lose your balance and fall and cover it up with a roll on the ground.
4) The grabbing arms to the face/mouth/air/sides/any body part that the song makes reference to except genitals. Can also mo.rph to swaying/Kate Bush arms in slower or more passionate songs.
5) The kick but not really a kick because you bend your knee really quickly towards the end of it.
6) The OTT look of pain/heartache/love/loss when you're sitting on the ground or facing upwards towards the ceiling. Works well in conjunction with the head/air grabbing.
7) Broken lines - an excuse you can make if you're not flexible enough to straighten your leg fully.

ETA: OMG how could I forget: 8) Running really fast and then just stopping and staring off into space. So deep.
