I enjoyed it (minus Will Ferrell). Pearl Jam made it worth it. And Andy <3

Dave and Jay will still dominate with Jimmy Fallon right behind them. The rest of them are just boring.

Andy is great, but they have to get him out from behind that podium and back on the couch where he can bounce more naturally off of Conan and guests. Seems to
stiff and forced behind the podium. Conan and Andy can really funny bouncing off each other.

Last night's show wasn't that great, except for Pearl Jam. I was hoping Triumph would be on the show to make fun of Eminem's teabagging
experience.
Conan > Letterman > Leno Coney <3 |

I enjoyed the show. Glad that I now have an option when Dave has boring guests on. I still think Jimmy Kimmel Live is the funniest late night show. Guillermo
and Uncle Frank bring the LOLs.

How can Conan survive without a black sidekick?
Problem is that Conan is not as likeable as Jay. That will show up big time when Jay has a late prime time show. People will watch Jay and then zonk off to bed. Conan will lose a full third of his audience. Just you wait.... |

I'd watch Jimmy Kimmel if he were on earlier. Jimmy > Dave > Conan. |

I loved the whole show a heck of a lot more than anything Jay did...I hope he can keep the zany humor coming. Plus, Andy Richter returning is enough to keep
watching. More at http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-11363-Dallas-TV-Examiner~y2009m6d2-Conans-Tonight-Show-debut-starting-off-with-some-good-laughs

Circle! Circle! Circle! Circle!

That circle bit was the greatest thing ever. Especially with Conan's "wtf?" look on his face when the audience started chanting it.

I watched last night just to see how he'd manage. The run was fantastic. Loved the keys sitting in his NY apt.
Circle! Circle! is my new catch phrase. Turned it off before Will Ferrel could muck it up. Poor Dave, with his lame ass Bill Cosby guest. Seriously, that's the best he could do? I guess he knew nobody would be watching, so why waste a good guest. |

Good argument!Well what was you're argument again? "I hate this and I hate that...thats how it is!" Any artist who has been nominated for a grammy and been in the business this long AS WELL as the fact that he is an accomplished bandleader....means he can't be that bad. |

Last night was the first Tonight Show I've watched since AssClown took over for Carson. Love my Conan and it's a great lead in to my favorite late
show w/Craig Ferguson (yes, I know it's different networks. i change the channel).

Just caught up on Hulu. I thought he was great. The whole Universal Tour bit was lol especially the octomom line. My major complaint is that I love Letterman
too and will probably end up watching Conan more than him now.

Really there's only two reasons Tivo exists: to fast-forward through commercials and to be able to watch both late-night talk shows. I'm taping both,
unless and until Conan sells out.

JerseyJerk wrote: Give any example of a jingle for a skit that Paul's produced and try to convince me it isn't a piece of crap that sounded like every other banal piece of crap he's produced for that show. Melodically, his music tends to be monotone. It's like Shaffer isn't even trying. It's got no brains. If a comedy sketch were about fat ladies, Shaffer would have his band members yelling out "fat ladies" 5 times as a part of its hook. I've never seen a divergence from this witless formula. Of course, Shaffer isn't hired to be a fab composer, but it's an indication of the rest of the shitfest that he is. Or give me a link to one genuinely comedic moment Shaffer's ever had on the show. Just one. I could provide a few for Max Weinberg or Andy Richter. I can't do that for Shaffer and would be hardpressed to want to watch anything he's in anyway. He's an old, bald, weasel-like looking man with no wit or humor. Letterman would be much better without him. |

I have to agree with you about Shaffer & his "Mighty Hammond". He's as irritating as a bladder infection. And it makes my skin crawl when
he joins in with invited bands like the Neville Brothers.
A great late night band is The Roots on Jimmy Fallon. Fallon is lousy but that band is pretty terriffic. I love it when they make up songs about members of the audience. |

Well, Shaffer did write It's Raining Men, so at least he's done something other than be Letterman's sidekick all his life.
I loved the opening running across America montage -- that must've been a lot of fun to make. (And a Survivor applicant did the same thing for his application tape -- and got booted first.) Otherwise it seemed just like standard Conan. The Universal tram tour was cringeworthy and nothing else was really funny. Conan appreciation of Jay Leno: "and we're happy that he's our lead-in again." Note the "again" |
