I see the Mets are again right behind us sniffing the Philly ass like they always do.
When Putz the pitcher imploded in the 8th last night i bet you got hot flashes and then woke up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night
Just like old times.

Yep, Putz is now pitching like Lidge, blowing saves. Putz is pitching with a bone spur similar to Maine last year, so we can expect another DL soon
0-7. I called it. |

sure you were, poindexter.
Sounds like you're all fired up about the Phightins having a slim lead over the Mets b team. start popping open those champagne bottles! Mets will get another winning streak going.......once they play the chumps again next week. I was thinking about attending some of those games at citi but I don't want to get bored watching the same script over and over again. Hell, I've seen the Mets bash the Phillies brains in enough to last me a lifetime. |

It's already reached the yawning ho-hum stage.

Looks like Johan will need to pitch a shutout to have any chance of getting a win tonight.
Beltran is out of the lineup for a 4th straight day. That must be a pretty bad stomach virus. |

Are you fucking kidding me? Randy Wells takes a no-hitter into the 7th, loses it, but still manages to pitch a gem. Again. And the bullpen finds a way to fuck
it up for him. Again. The worst part is that I knew it was going to happen.

Same here E Love.Poor kid can never catch a break. Pisses me off. Kind of like the Sunday night I went to where LA hit 6 straight hits and scored 5 runs in the
first inning. So much fun being a lifer Cubs fan. I may have to move somewhere for a winner team.
Must be the ambien kicking in. I'm sure I'll stay the same masochist for the rest of my life. Booo. |

I could switch teams, but these poor bastards have had my heart for 25 seasons. Why stop now? Wouldn't matter anyway, as I jinx everyone I cheer for. At
this point though, I can't blame myself. Jim Hendry just flat out put together a shitty team and Pinella seems clueless.

You know, if Roy Halladay pitched for any American team, he'd be more famous than Mount Rushmore.
He's downright sick. |

Mets facing swine flu scare
An SNY employee who travels with the Mets has been stricken by an unidentified strain of the flu, prompting concerns about swine flu in a clubhouse that has had two players come down with a stomach virus in the past several days. The Mets would not identify the person, but a source close to the situation said it is a member of the network's technical staff. The employee has been isolated from the team since coming down with the flu Monday, and -- as with everyone who has the flu these days -- is being tested for swine flu. However, it could take up to a week before test results reveal whether it is swine flu. In the meantime, the Mets are taking every precaution possible. (Newark Star-Ledger) |

I blame all the farm animal fucking that goes on up there.
Gratz on the Yankees having the best record in the AL right now. And what a glorious debut of Phillies rookie pitcher Antonia "Big" Bastardo last night. He mowed down the Pods like a seasoned pro. He'll make an excellent addition to the collective. |

I heard on one of the sports stations coming into work (not sure which one) that last night for the first time ever 2 rookie pitchers made their debuts and
both beat former cy young winners on the same night...the Phils' kid and the Oakland pitcher who beat Colon and the white sox...

Last night while announcing the Yanks/Rangers John Sterling came out with this beauty. After Hideki Matsui hit a homer Sterling proceeded to yell out it was an A-Bomb. So great. |

When Ryan Howard hits one i guess we can call it an H-Bomb

lolol phillies fans outnumbered padres fans last night and im not even joking. announced crowd was 17K but it was probably closer to 10 and there were at least
5000 phils fans there last night. the entire 3rd base line was all phils fans so bastardo got two standing ovations
game kinda felt like a minor league one, they let kids do all this stuff like announcing a batter. for one of the promotions this girl had to choose either from one of three hats or take a mystery box. she took a hat, then out popped the phillie phanatic. couldnt believe they allowed him there also noticed that unlike at shitifield, they play replays of good things the phillies do |
