So it's never been about just who is the best singer. I firmly believe Kris won for the exact same reasons Cook won. People liked his style of music better.

I thought most of the top 24 were better singers than Carly (not Jason or a few others, but most). She sounded like shit more often than she sounded decent.

I actually think Carly has a decent voice. My prob with her is that her look and her sound are at complete odds with each other. I was always waiting for her
to sing as badass as she looks.

I don't deny that Carly has some singing ability, but she doesn't have a great voice. I'd love to take her ability and put it together with
Ramiele's voice, and you'd have a phenomenal singer. At the end of the day, though, I'm much more excited about a singer with a great voice who
screws up a lot than I am about a singer with a shitty voice who manages to sing in tune...

There's a four-note range or something where her voice sounds great. Any lower and it drops out. Any higher and it goes shrill and strained. IMO,
that's not enough to consider it a good voice...

I haven't bought any of Archie's cds, but I like the kid. But it's not like David Cook was always on pitch either (He wasn't.) People criticize Kris for having a weak voice but really vocally he always delivered decent vocals. It's because Kris didn't overreach and did what he could do. It's something I actually really respect about Kris to be quite frank. (I truly wonder what happened witn No Boundries because it was unlike that kid) He'll probably very rarely embarrass himself and always be decent to listen to live.... |
