Except that was like, the first time Evan/Randi performed together. Those two you saw do the Tango were professionals. So fair comparison? I think not.

To reiterate, as I said in my earlier quote bolded above, I found the jidges comments about Evan and Blondie's sensual vibe with each other laughable last night. So, seeing what I define as true sensuality from the Tangoers just brought back to my mind what I felt that Evan/Blondie lack as both individuals and a pair, period, rather than it being an unfair comparison to more experienced dancers. Especially since for me, sensuality is sort of an organic, in the eye of the beholder, thing that has nothing to do with the experience of one pair of dancers vs another.

That said, I can appreciate that plenty of people probably agreed with the jidges comments about this already popular pair. Even though, IMO, some of it came across as scripted, over the top pimping. And along that line, I really hope I won't have to see anymore lame scenes where they try to play up Evan's cutesy supposed struggle/discomfort over the possibility that he might develop inappropriately lustful *eyeroll* feelings for a married! woman! Just please, no.

Moving on, as far as the eliminations, I'm just fine with them. I didn't care too much about whether Jon or Tony went. But I actually liked Jon's solo more and found him to be more likable than Tony in general, so I think the more deserving cannon fodder got to survive for an extra week on the guy's side.

While I don't necessarily have the warm fuzzies about Asuka, I think she deserved to advance. Because as of now, I don't see her as this terrible, mean-girl villainess. And I kind of think she could prove to be one of the more versatile female dancers. Though, she may not stick around long enough for me to see if I'm right about that speculation.

Vitalio is one of the few guy dancers in this season's lineup whose way of moving really appeals to me. He also has lovely form and solid technique. Unfortunately, I think he and Ade are the cannon-fodder black male dancers, since I truly believe that Brandon is one of TPTB's story-arc kids. Which means between fan support and jidging shenanigans he'll probably make top 4 at least.

I just hope that at some point, if I keep watching this season, he'll start looking more like a true dancer to me. Because at this point, he just comes across as a guy more suited to gymnastics, who can learn dance choreography, but whose moves lack grace, and fluidity. And, even though he can move to the music that plays in the backround while he's powering his way across the stage, he also hasn't convinced me that he possesses the ability to make a true emotional connection to the music.
