You all have WEIRD Grocery Stores.
Publix is pretty much the king in these parts. I wish we had one of them fancy Trader Joes, or whatever the one is called that you people talk about all the time on here.

When I was in the States, I didn't mind Albertsons. Seemed decent enough. I was just shocked that they sold booze in the store. Fucking government up north
thinks us citizens aren't mature and that liquor needs to be sold through government stores for a deadly high price, GRRRR.
Totally agree on Wal-Mart being a shithole in the US. Low lives plagued the stores we went to in the US. In Canookia, everyone goes to Wal-Mart. <3 |

President's Choice Toffee Caramel whatever Ice cream bars are worth every penny. Soooo good.
I always buy the President's choice Canola/Olive Oil blend and their Sunflower oil. Ooooo and PC Molten Lava Cakes are excellent. And the PC Naan Bread. AND the Blue Menu PC some sort of multigrain nutty English Muffin were the first multigrain nutty ones I would ever eat. oooooo and PC Old Fashioned Lemonade. Oh and the PC Organic Orange Juice. It's low acid for me. Soooo good. I just wish they labelled better. |

They definitely should be labeled better. And their naan bread is great... with the butter chicken.
I don't buy actual groceries at Walmart. Just Great Value Diet Cola. The only thing I buy from their grocery store is India House Punjabi Choley. There is a trend here, but I can't put my finger on it. *craves a curry*

Has anyone else noticed that Walmart has been bumping their prices higher now that they have established a foothold in groceries. Not only do they suck, they
aren't even cheap. I save money on many items at real grocery stores.

Worst (in Chicago): Garden Fresh Market - took over most of the old Cub Foods locations around here. Blecch. But by far the best grocery store I have seen anywhere is Basha's in the Phoenix area. They rule. |

Oooo...a thread for the fraus and gaes!
Best: On the east coast it's Wegman's hands down. The produce and bakery departments are in a league of their own. In second, I would place Harris Teeter which has a better dry goods section than Weggies. In the Southwest I visited an AJ's Fine Foods which you have to see to believe. But they are very pricey and not for everyday shopping. Worst: Food Lion. The smell hits you the second you walk in the door. Superfresh is also pretty rank. eta: Next time I'm out in AZ I'll try Basha's, CBR. I've seen them but I've never been in one.
