since S20 is in Samoa, i think its safe to say it will be All-Stars 2 OR some other bug name twist, like Survivor: Celebrity Edition, ect. something that they wont have to y=use the name of the place. I def. agree it will be good for spoilers.

VISIT THE SET OF SURVIVOR 20, MEET JEFF PROBST & CAST

You and a guest will experience a unique visit to the actual location of Season 20 of Survivor! You will meet Jeff Probst, you'll attend a reward or immunity challenge and you'll visit Tribal Council. You'll eat with the Survivor crew at basecamp, visit the various departments including the infamous Survivor Art Department, and if you're up for it, you'll participate in the rehearsal of a Survivor challenge where you'll get a chance to see what it's like to be a real Survivor.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get as close to the action as possible, short of being on the show yourself! The date and location is TBD but will most likely be scheduled for mid-August. The winner and guest will be required to sign confidentiality agreements with CBS and Survivor. Transportation and accommodations are not included.

Seasons filmed during the summer are generally done by the beginning of August. Vanuatu and Guatemala both finished filming on August 5th, and no season since then has finished later.

If they are shooting back-to-back seasons, it is still unwise to invite someone to the taping of a season that hasn't even been announced yet. They must want the season to be announced/spoiled long before December.

maybe theyre starting with double the amount of people and the twist is they film 2 seasons at once and then when each is at 8 people left they make them all come together and keep going for the following season

I reckon everyone's way off. I dunno, I just felt like there would have been a bit more hype and a bit better of a preview if there was gonna be such a mega twist.

Season 19 won't have a mega twist, it's just "Survivor: Samoa."

Season 20 is the season that will have a twist, probably All-Stars (even if some people here don't want to admit that this is the mot likely scenario).

So wait, do we really know for a fact (or an almost-fact) that it's going to be back-to-back seasons, both in Samoa? Do people only think this because of Probst's comment that he'd be finished in October? Cause i don't know, it just seems strange that they'd be doing something like this...could it be that we're all just speculating? Maybe he meant to say November or something?

I was referring to the fangasmic concept that S19 and S20 will merge, with two seasons of contestants coming together for a special final jury or whatever... I think if this were true, Probst would have hinted to it in the preview, or at least, really encouraged people to watch THIS season.... wink wink... etc...

Okay so just to play Devil's Advocate for a minute, with a bit of wishful thinking... Is it really confirmed that 20 will be filmed consecutively with 19 and also in Samoa?
Because, as I see it, the only evidence is this:

-Probst's quote in the NY Post
-Hotel bookings at the hotel in Samoa

So, breaking this down, here's how I look at it as a possibility: The NY Post is a highly questionable source of "journalism"...they're the written equivalent of Fox News. I know for a fact that it is quite common for them to not only get simple facts wrong, but to also just make shit up (Being a New Yorker, it's pretty much common knowledge here...the Post is a joke). A friend of mine who was in a Broadway show had his picture in the Post once with one of his co-stars, on something like Page Six or something, and the caption - instead of giving his name, they gave a name of someone else in the same show who wasn't even in the picture. So....I think it's not only possible, but likely, that they misquoted him. Even if they didn't, he said "double duty on Survivor", but that doesn't necessarily mean back-to-back season, since I suppose every full season (Fall + Spring seasons) could be seen as being "back-to-back". He then said that the earliest that he could have episodes done for his other show by would be January. ....But wouldn't that still make sense if they're filming S20 as if it's just a normal even-numbered season? From what I've heard, they film in October & November.

As for the bookings at the Samoan resort...I'm not really knowledgable of the filming schedules or anything, but isn't it possible that while the show is only 39 days, that the crew needs to stay there longer? (Possibly for post-production and other things?

On the flip side, RealityBlurred.com reported on this, which for me, is the strongest piece of evidence that it will, in fact, be happening. In all the years I've been reading RealityBlurred, I've known them to be the most accurate source there is for this kind of stuff. At the same time however, it seems they're only speculating on the Hotel dates, Jeff quote, and ebay auction (which maybe is really for S19?)

I don't know. Haha yeah this is probably very much wishful thinking since I really don't want some sort of lame continuation season! But it seems everyone is talking all about the back-to-back Samoa seasons so I figured I'd at least try to see if there's any possibility that it isn't going to happen...which i hope it won't! I don't know, I feel like something just doesn't add up with this whole two seaons at once thing. Like for exanple, the cast for 19 left for production in Samoa last week, and supposedly they've already finished casting 20, however not only are they still taking applications for both 19 and 20, but they just had an open casting call for both seaons like 2 weeks ago. Is it just me or is something not adding up here?

Sorry to disappoint you, PlatinumBlondeLife. I've known about them filming back-to-back for 19/20 for quite a while and finally decided to post it here on May 28. That was almost two weeks before the NY Post article. I dislike spoilers and I would not have posted this information if I wasn't sure of it... :S

Sorry to disappoint you, PlatinumBlondeLife. I've known about them filming back-to-back for 19/20 for quite a while and finally decided to post it here on May 28. How'd you find out about it? Do you know anything else about why they're doing it or what the twist is? I'm equally fascinated and horrified lol
