If so, that's how ALL voting shows should be. My patience and time availability to call or text a thousand times for someone is WAY lower than a bunch of 12 year olds at a slumber party. I'm with most of you on Jonathan. Looking at just his features, I should think he's adorable, but somehow it just feels wrong. I really do think it's because he looks so young in those photos that it's creepy in kiddie porn kind of way. I think Auska is the same way. All the "sexiness" from those two seem like Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby. Pono? I find him all kinds of hot.

Her solo was godawful, and looking back to performance night, she probably had the worst DANCING of anybody in the top 20 (although she made up for it somewhat with sex appeal). Sure, Paris is a fugbeast, but she definitely deserved to stay over Karla. Tony screwed up his solo and I'm fine with him going, but I think you guys are too hard on him. He is NOT terrible in his style -- his featured bit in the group number was awesome, and perhaps the only really great part of the whole routine. I hated Cedric's solos, because I saw them more as spazzy flailing than actual dance. If we're going to fault people like Jonathan and Neil and Marquis for doing "tricks" rather than dancing in their solos, I allege that Cedric's entire solos were all one big trick (and not an enjoyable one at that).

I think you get a more accurate result because you see how many people are voting over just the grand total of votes. But, Idol would never change it since they pride themselves on millions and millions of votes. With eliminations, I think the judges eliminating contestants works for this show, but not others. Even though there's a helluva lot of pimping on this show, it doesn't seem to have AS much impact as Idol typically does.

Speaking of which, I can't wait for Talia to show up -- I was tardingly happy to see her win (I really thought Charlie had it in the bag, so I prepared myself for disappointment). It's not a fair comparison, but if you want to see crazy as hell toe dancing, check out this Australian Ballet Pas De Deux from one of the results shows: When I first saw this, I swore there were wires. It may be the most amazing dance performance I've ever seen. DAMN!! That was amazing! She must be weightless!

There is no difference on the way the votes are collected, but SYTYCD has 1/3 of the viewers AI does and it doesn't attract as many auto-dialers as AI does.

They give each dancer a number at the top ten, And yes some dancers are protected because they have popular partners and some are hurt because their partners suck but it works pretty well.

I think an individual vote would be WORSE, because if an overpimped dancer and a UTR one both did a crappy routine, the overpimped one would get votes and be safe while the UTR one would take all the consequences, even if he/she is the better dancer...

It was hysterically cruel how, when it got down to Paris and Asuka, Nigel said that they considered the balance of dance styles among all the dancers in deciding whom to cut. At that point, everyone (especially Paris) knew that meant Asuka was safe and Paris was toast. But then he kept talking and talking and talking, and finally told Paris she was out. Way to drag out the torture for the poor girl.
