White Lake resident Michael Skupin, star of "Survivor: The Australian Outback," endured near starvation, falling into a campfire, and poorly cooked rice, but he may be outwitted and outplayed by the tax man. Skupin owes $59,358 in federal income taxes, which he disputes, and $6,764 in property taxes, records show.
His alibi?
You guessed it... FIRE!
The IRS lien stems from a series of unfortunate events, Skupin said. There was a fire in his office that burned some records so he moved everything to a storage unit. It flooded.
