I personally think the series should end at 20. I don't want to see Survivor go the way of almost every other show on television and slide lower and lower each season. Its popularity is still fairly healthy right now, but nowhere near as strong as it was prior to All-Stars, or even prior to Exile Island. It is reasonable to believe that in another five years, Survivor will have fallen just as far. Therefore, the final season should be soon, and I believe 20 will be the last season in its current format.

And what better way to end the series than with an All-Star cast of characters from Borneo to Samoa? CBS has the Super Bowl in 2010, and I think if they premiered Survivor 20 after the game and advertised it as the final season, Survivor's popularity would receive a considerable boost.

The other strength of having season 20 be an All-Stars is that there would be 19 seasons with which to choose characters from. We wouldn't have to worry about any duds like Amber or Jenna Lewis getting on the show.

All the evidence is pointing to this conclusion. The back-to-back filming, the fact that BOTH the series and Jeff Probst's contract expires at 20, and season 20's airing ten years after the first season.

Even if CBS is accepting applications and holding casting calls, I don't think it means anything. CBS obviously has to create the illusion that there won't be a twist for season 20 in order to make their All-Stars announcement that much more of a surprise to the general public. Plus, weren't several of the Pirate Master contestants originally Survivor applicants? CBS needs to get contestants for its other shows from SOMEWHERE, even if the show does get taken off the air halfway through.

Samoa's finale may come in December and prove me completely wrong, but I think logic currently points to another All-Stars.
