Great to see this show getting a great response here on Sucks despite its shitty performance on the ratings scale...

First off, I want to lament the amount of corpses unrecovered and left to rot.

-Looks like Cousin Ben will never be found under that boat before the crabs pick his skeleton clean.

-Lucy's pit will never be found.

-Hunter's faceless body is still floating out to the Pacific

-Did Abby and JD even take Uncle Marty's halves back with them? Or did they just scream and run off?

-Richard was obviosly left on that tree trunk. I don't see them taking the time to take him down.

-Cole was left to burn without a second thought

-Poor Beth. I don't think anyone wants to squeeze into those crawlspaces again to retrieve her corpse.

-Since Malcolm was the only one who knew where Booth was buried, good luck finding that.

-Speaking of Malcolm, unless they have dental records, nobody even knew who that was in the furnace.

And that brings me to my contribution to the "faked death" theory.
The reason people seem to think Booth faked his death was the implausibility of bleeding to death from a flesh wound to the leg.
A shot to the head? Of course
A shot to the throat? Definitely
A shot through the heart or stomach? No question
A shot through the leg? doubtful

If the killer wasn't the one who shot him, then I believe Booth went into shock and Malcolm mistakenly thought he was dead and buried him alive, thus killing him. Gruesome death I'm sure.

But the only death that we as a viewing audience did not directly see and that the remaining wedding party could not identify the remains of... was Malcolm.
Yes we saw him jerk and shuffle from the view from inside the furnace, but it very well could have been something else.
Whatever... I know it's impossible but it nagged in the back of my head for a long time.

Forgot to add...

The last few years of surprise twists and endings in movies and tv shows, we as a viewing audience have gotten pretty savvy in spotting discrepancies and thinking the obvious is always the red herring.

Perhaps the obvious would be the biggest twist because nobody would believe the "obvious" suspect would be the killer.

I'd be pretty pissed off if the killer turned out to be Maggie or Nikki or anyone NOT on the bingo card.

I love that idea, but I wish it involved a different character. Malcolm is too dumb/hysterical to be faking his own death, so if he weren't dead, WTF has he been doing?

Didn't the producer say the DVD would include chopped up pieces of Malcolm going into the furnace? They had to edit that out.

Since you mentioned the DVD, TV Shows on DVD is reporting that CBS/Paramount is planning on releasing the Harper's Island DVD on September 8th. So the release is less than 3 months away. No word on what extras will be included. The extras may include the Harper's Globe episodes.

Well I've thought it was Henry since week 3, but I'm now starting to sway towards Nikki/ Maggie. I just don't think Henry could be in all of the places he needed to be.

This was probably my favorite Beth episode so far. The great part about Beth was that she lived her life completely UTR. Of course she died one of the most gruesome deaths, but we didn't get to see it. It is perfectly in her character. When Sully said "Where's Beth?" part of me expected either Trish or Henry to ask "Who's Beth?"

The whole Beth timeline is really messing with me. Here are my theory on the Beth situation (that would still leave all the people in the room as suspects.)

1: If Beth was chopped in half and dragged down to the basement, wouldn't there be a ton more blood? The blood trail they followed was very inconsistent. I think the blood trail was placed there to get Beth to go into the basement. Maybe she was following it when the fight was going on. Then the killer would have plenty of time to follow Beth after the fight and chop her in half

2. Beth was killed by some trap in the kitchen during the argument. Or she fell in a trap like Daphne from Scooby Doo. The killer then dragged the body to the basement while we watched Abby/ Jimmy talk and Cal/ Chloe get lovin'.

3. Beth was actually in the room during the argument and they just didn't show her on screen. She is INV in every other episode, so I could see the camera guy missing her. The killer then attacked her in the kitchen while we watched the other scenes.

Since you mentioned the DVD, TV Shows on DVD is reporting that CBS/Paramount is planning on releasing the Harper's Island DVD on September 8th. So the release is less than 3 months away. No word on what extras will be included. The extras may include the Harper's Globe episodes.

I've never bought a DVD of a TV series before, but I think I would buy this.

Time to update my chart. I'm sticking with the "only one killer" premise because those were the rules. Obviously if there were more than one killer, a lot of these alibis would be worthless. The only person at this point that could be the killer is Nikki. Unless of course some of the deaths are explained by traps. Every other person has an alibi for at least one death.

I rewatched the episode, and the last time we see Beth alive is when she, Sully and Danny are in the kitchen. When they leave the kitchen after hearing Shane and Henry arguing, Beth is behind the guys, while still carrying the lantern. That much we know.
While Sully was giving his two cents, there was this off the shoulder view of the kitchen entrance everytime he had a closeup. I felt like it was taunting me. Granted, there wasn't anything going on but the shot made it seem like it was toying with me.

The whole "And Then There Were None" theory is believable. Who would suspect a victim to be the killer? We would but we tend to look more to those still alive.

And here is where people will either be up in arms or start thinking otherwise...

What if Beth is alive? and the killer?

The "top half" of Beth could've been stuffed there previously with the carefully laden path of blood.
Isn't it possible that because of the confines of the crawlspace, whoever discovered the body wouldn't be inclined to examine it further or bring it out. Crawlspaces when a murderer is rampaging about is scary enough without a bloody corpse blocking it. I don't blame Danny for hightailing it out.

I didn't even notice Beth until she started hanging out with the groomsmen... and then I thought she was Henry's friend or one of the guy's girlfriends. I didn't realize she was a bridesmaid until recently. That could very well fit into the "who the fuck is that?"

Later, Sully and Danny heard about Booth's alleged death (who knows what they do or don't believe from the untrustworthy FaFu), but as far as we know, they haven't told anybody else. I dont' think this series as a "fake death". Isn't there a game where money is involved if you correctly guess the killer? By removing the dead from the list and then having a dead person be the killer it sorta makes the game unfair for those that voted later.

Which is why I don't believe in the "Booth faked his death" theory. But Booth is not the only person that could have faked their death.
Unless the victim either died in front of others (a la Mr Wellington), had their bodies found and recovered (like Kelly) or had an onscreen death (like Richard or Lucy) it's plausible anyone could have faked their death.
Like I brought up earlier, Malcolm could have done so. We didn't see him die nor did anyone see him dead either. But I agree with you that he doesn't have the mental capacity to pull it off.
I'm not saying that Beth did it, but if anyone could have faked their death, she probably could have. Her body isn't available for everyone to see like JD's. They're going by Danny's word which seemed to be enough. Maybe exactly what she intended.

While possible, I don't know why Malcolm would have done any of what he did to fake his death, given that there was nobody around to witness it. He could have KEPT the money, put a bloody handprint on the door, thrown a skull in the furnace, and gone about his day...

As has been stated, the "screaming man" clip is part of the 15-minute promotional video that the producers used to raise money for the whole project.

Several of the roles were recast: Henry, Uncle Marty, Trish, etc.

Some scenes were included in the version we see. Some were rewritten or reformulated. For example, Madison's "The Bad man told me" became "The spirits told me"...

The "screaming man" could have been reconfigured into the Cole Harkin character, or he could turn out to be the one-eyed taxi driver who shows up again, or we will see a new character show up, who's been hiding in the tunnels. Or, the whole concept was scrapped in a rewrite.

The most logical place the screaming man would show up now would be in the tunnels or the lighthouse later. It could be he turns out to be the person who was trying to pull Abby out of the tunnels.

As medically implausible as it sounds, and I think we can throw out medical implausibility on this show, the person who was trying to pull her out of the tunnel will probably turn out to be the Sheriff, since I don't think it was the killer, because I think the killer was Henry. He was probably pulling on her to rescue her and his weakened state allowed her to get away. The real killer, if he wanted to kill Abby, having just cut Beth in half probably could have done it then. I think the person who was pulling on her was actually trying to help her. Or not. It's a guess anyway.
