I still don't know why you all are so confused that America thinks John Salley is the most famous of the bunch because it's not that hard - NBA player from back in the day.

I don't live in a place where there is an NBA team, so unless you're Michael %@@#%!, Charles Barkley, Shaq or Kobe - I don't know who the heck you are.

Since I'm not a basketball fan, I had no clue who John was. It's demographics... each "celebrity" is more famous in their area than the others... that's all.

Get ready for another round of Speidi.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag might be off I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! but the reality TV stars are already making plans for a comeback.

"I actually was just letting NBC know that I am ready to go back," The Hills star, 25, tells MTV News. "I'm ready. I got a whole new attitude about it."

But Pratt and Montag, 23, will probably have to wait until next season to return to the Costa Rican jungle.

"We tried to go back but the cast said they would mutiny if we showed up!" he says.

"And the doctor told me I couldn't," adds Montag, who was briefly hospitalized during her stint on the show. "The minute we walked in [the show] I started crying - I never cry. I cry, like, once every three years ... and then I got really sick ... and that's when we were like, 'Maybe the jungle is not for Speidi.' "

Exactly. I don't think I've ever watched a basketball game in my life yet there are a few big names that even I recognize. His is not one of them, and prior to this show, if I had seen him on the street I wouldn't look twice but I would probably notice he is tall. Nobody I know follows basketball either, except for maybe my brother but I'm not sure of that. He likes football more than anything. I get that basketball is popular but Most Famous???

I believe he's the most recognizable of the cast other than probably Stephen and actually, you know, worked a legit job/occupation before retiring and going on this show.

Chiming in, no way is John Salley the Most Famous. Hell as much as they suck at life "Spedi" were the most famous. This is a loose definition of famous mind you.

If we're talking A-F list...I'd say maybe Lou Diamond Phillips ranks the highest with a C.

Sanjaya is defo the most famous. The only people I never heard of were Frangela, Sally and Torrie.

I don't understand why it's so hard for people to grasp John Salley being famous. Maybe you don't watch basketball, but it doesn't mean it's not popular. Check out the ratings from Thursday night:

Salley won 4 NBA championships and is currently the co-host of a popular sports show. I'd still argue Stephen is more famous, largely because of Alec and being a member of famous family, but I wonder how many could pick him out of a lineup of the Baldwin brothers. Lou is probably more famous as well, mainly because of LaBamba.

Most famous means most famous to everyone. Sports may be huge to many people, but only a small number of sports stars are famous to those who don't follow sports. They are the famous ones. John Salley is not one of them. That vote was rigged so the cry baby wouldn't leave and so he could act like a nazi douchebag to cause trouble on the set.

You don't have to watch American Idol to know who Sanjaya is. You don't have to watch any of the shows to know who Janice is, to a lesser degree. You don't have to know what films Stephen was in to know who the Baldwin brothers are.

The only time I know who a sports celebrity is is when they are on Dancing With the Stars. It pisses me off when sports fanatics think you're stupid when you don't recognize all the names & stats of players. Now I'll know who John Salley is but before this he was no one special to me.

Although, I knew who everyone was (with the exception of Torrie), my husband only knew LDP, John Salley, Stephen Baldwin and Sanjaya (only because I watch AI).....to him....all of the others were NOBODIES.

Think about it...unless you watch MTV or VH-1....then more than likely you have no idea who Janice or Speidi are. While, I don't agree Salley is the most famous (I would have thought LDP or Stephen Baldwin due to the name Baldwin)...it wouldn't be a shocker that people know who he is and possibly voted for him.

Sports has a HUGE fan base and is watched by millions...........MTV & VH-1 just aren't watched by the same volume overall.

I will admit though, that probably the target audience for this show is mostly the MTV & VH-1 watchers. I highly doubt tons of "sports fans" have been tuning in to this show because of the NHL and NBA finals going on at the same time.

That's why I said Janice to a lesser degree. She's not as famous as people into this sort of thing think. Truthfully, Sanjaya is probably the most famous. He was all over the news and talk shows every day for months. No one else has had that sort of publicity. Speidi used this as a platform to try to gain more noteriety, and it's worked to a lesser extent. It's no wonder they are praying for Sanjaya to be with Holly.

Same here. I don't follow sports except for Football, but only my hometown team. When the cast was announced the only ones I have not heard of was John and Torri. I even knew Frangela from VH1.

Most famous means most famous to everyone

It was a web poll, not a national election. "Most Famous" in this context meant most famous among people that:
#1 Watch the show and
#2 Cared enough to go to the NBC website and vote in the poll.

Furthermore, Frangela, Heidi and Spencer were poll choices and so maybe some of the results were just the next highest vote getters.

But THAT'S what's suspicious. If you go to the NBC website for the show, check the messageboard. There were practically no posts or views in his thread until last night when this happened, and most of it's complaints. He didn't have fans on the site before. So they all of a sudden mass registered to vote in some poll?
