So when did MTV get the rights to the show? It's been on from 4-5pm all week long and it's apparently part of their new lineup during the week. Not
that I'm complaining but I didn't know MTV had the rights to the show, unless Comedy Central is under MTV, which it probably is and I just don't
know.

'Futurama' getting new voices for Fry, Leela, Bender, and others Just when I was getting really excited for the revived Futurama, total bummer news emerges: The voice actors are going to be different. Who's going to Zoid my Zoidberg? Twentieth Century Fox, which is still producing the series even though new episodes will air on Comedy Central, is recasting the major voice roles for the show. That means no more Billy West (Fry, Professor, and Ziodberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, among others), or Tress MacNeil (Mom, and several others). Worst! Fox released a statement saying "We love the Futurama voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands. While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to give voice to Matt and David's brilliantly subversive characters." Is it still Futurama with totally different voices, PopWatchers, or can this news bite your shiny metal -- well, you know. |

It's not Futurama without them doing the voices. I might not watch. 
But they might end up working out a deal. This happened several times with the Simpsons and each time they worked it out to keep the main cast. I fear though that this will be just like Reno 911. I used to watch that religiously and then they dumped Garcia, Clemmy, and that butchy lesbian cop. Now I don't watch it anymore because I don't even know when it's on and I almost don't care.

I really wouldn't worry about this. Either they'll come to some agreement with the cast or they'll nix the entire idea of reviving the show out of
fan anger. I will note that in another article the cast was supposedly demanding "several times" their original salaries, so either they were getting
paid nothing or their heads are too far in the clouds. There will be a Futurama panel at Comic-Con next week so this should be cleared up soon.
