I loved him as a character as well in the Mega Man cartoon (Yes I know that show is complete crap, lol). I think Mega Man 6 and Mega Man 8 was when the MM series sort of jumped the shark. I love how half of the robot masters in MM6, are ethnic stereotypes.

It's not that I have a hard on for MM7 robots, it's just that there are no�stand out�lamoids like in the other ones. I'm not a huge SlashMan fan for two reasons, 1) He looks weird just for the sake of looking weird 2) For someone who looks so tough, he fights like a total pussy. He spends most of the fight hiding in the ceiling and dropping eggs with red goo in them. The eggs are near impossible to dodge and once they hit you, you can't fire until he hits you first. Should you score a hit on Slash Man, he immidiately returns up to the ceiling and starts that pattern all over again, it's fucking IRRITATING! And for that, I'm not ranking him any higher, although he is fun to freeze.

His attack style his pretty lame too. He either chucks spinning hatchets at you or attacks you with feathers from his headdress......that's right, feathers! And for some reason he is weak against flowers. It's actually what we call a default weakness. For those who aren't familiar, in every Mega Man game there is a weakness sequence loop that works in a rock/paper/sciscor way. For instance the water robot will kill the fire robot, the fire robot in turn will kill the ice robot etc. But sometimes to make the loop connect, they pretty much have no choice but�to have some robots with weaknesses that don't make much sense, such as it is the case here.

But my problem with him is that he is generic as hell. Usually just by looking at a robot master you can easily guess their names or something close, but there's just no guessing what this guy is all about. Couldn't they have made him of I don't know.........concrete??

It took long enough, but I'm glad he made it�to the SNES rather than the NES because there's not that many things you can do with a Spring Man, at least the 16 bit exploited all his ability from bouncing around, attacking you with coils and stretching his limbs. �

It's like the production team did a really great job at creating them but botched their fighting skills.�Stone Man is a fine example. He looked really badass, but really all he did was hop around would randomely release rotating rocks. He would also crumble into a pile of bricks and become invulnerable to any attack�which was an utterly pointless defensive move since�he couldn't inflict you any damage while doing so.

Crystal Man is another baddie that looks really cool but has nothing to offer once you actually square off�against him. His fighting pattern is jump, freeze in mid-air and shoot. Evrey now and then he lets out four crystal balls that bounce on the walls and that's pretty much it.

He should've been gone long ago given that he's yet another shield wielding lamo, but unlike his brethren, he actually puts up a decent fight. His stage is also one of the most, if not THE msot challenging in MM history, but in a fun way, not in a pull your hair out and punch a hole in the wall way. For those who think he is the first gay robot master, do not forget about Plant Man or any MM8 robot master for that matter.

There is nothing really outstanding about Ring Man. He's a rather bland robot who puts up a decent fight and attacks you with a quick and effective weapon. Pretty cool stage too. �
