Actually sometimes people sign off of facebook, but it doesn't show in your account. When you say hi, it tries to open a communication line with them,
discovers they are gone, and thus they immediately become unavailable. It is nothing personal

I never stay on facebook very long anyways, so people have a tendency to hit me up right when I'm just about sign off.
But I stay if the person is cute, but that's rarely the case. |

It's annoying because you have to keep facebook open to use it. I always forget and navigate on to another page, instantly killing all my conversations
and leading people like you to believe I hate them.
