Perhaps CBS gave away those first two because they see the big drama as the Wakefield bridge segment. Maybe Cal heroically kills Wakefield, and then someone else dies later to make them fear a second killer. There is also this "offscreen" death somewhere. I cannot imagine that Wakefield dies off-screen.

Just how did Wakefield just walk up and kill her anyway? Why didn't others use their gun? He broke into the place. He had to be a bad guy. Geesh! there's a 2 hour finale because there's no new episode next week. That's going to be a LONG two weeks. Spoiler [+] Right. I think one of the killers (Wakefield) has some unfinished business...to kill the rest of the locals. I think the second killer (more than likely Henry) is after the Wellingtons & wedding guests...for whatever reason. Final 10!

He had to be a bad guy. Geesh! This is Roger Ebert's pet peeve -- when film plots only work when people behave as stupidly as possible. In real life, most of us are behaving as imperfectly smart as we can.

Spoiler [+] Not sure exactly how he broke in but in the preview at the end of last week's episode, I saw a split second of Nikki firing a shotgun just after Wakefield ducked and deflected the barrel of the shotgun up with his arm. You are trying to hard to make too much out of things that we already know the anwsers to. BOOTH is DEAD. Wakefield was Madisons "new friend" and he kidnapped her, to keep hte others on the Island.

Posts: 7762 (06/25/09 2:34 PM) MESS member Reply Quote More Recent Posts	To me, that may end up being the disappointment when all of this is over -- that the killers didn't use finesse, or an order, or specfic killings for specific people as in Agatha Christie's prototype "And Then There Were None." Spoiler [+] That the producer tweeted that the order of death doesn't matter is disappointing. It's just a slasher film now as long as Wakefield's alive. A murder mystery I will watch and love, but now with Wakefield just killing whoever, whenever, however, it loses it's luster. Chloe did say in Ep. 1 that Wakefield chopped, burned and hung whoever was unlucky enough to cross his path, so the writers are not inconsistent with John Wakefield's characcter. He's behaving exactly the way we were told he behaved. I'm pretty sure Wakefield somehow dies half-way through the episode, so we can have the preview about "another killer". Otherwise, who wants to watch 3-hours of running through the woods to avoid a slasher who kills with no rhyme or reason? We've also learned that the producers and advertisers aren't always on the same page. "One killer" is out the window. The producer quote about 1/3 not knowing who the killer is goes out the window. The fact that CBS is now apologizing for this preview clip as a "mistake" shows that CBS either got lots of flak for revealing two of the deaths or the advertisers, markters, web designers aren't working together. There is a way of ribbing people who post here that is light-hearted and a way that it is not. Maybe it is just the way I was raised, but mean people suck and there is no reason for any of us here to put up with anyone's meanness. I don't know what spoiler threads you hang out in, but it's in all the ones here I've read. I'm not saying I find it enjoyable, in fact I always find it annoying when there's just pages and pages of bickering in a thread, but it's hardly a new thing and he's certainly not the only one who does it. I was merely trying to point out that that sort of nonsense has never been a bannable offense in the past, and in fact people have said far worse things than that here (such as actual personal insults involving real life issues a person was having) and basically gotten pats on the back from people who could ban them. That was all I meant.

There was plenty of time for Trish to blast Wakefield with the shotgun but she didn't and Shane fought like an idiot. He didn't keep his distance at all. He didn't throw furniture or anything. He didn't even throw the knife when basically he could have chucked it at Wakefield's head and it would have surely hit him because they were at such close range... That whole scene just looks really awful. Not one of the better scenes in the show

To me that implies that Wakefield probably dies somehow and then mistakenly everyone thinks they're safe, but the murder's then continue. We might see Danny light the prayer candle in church this episode. Perhaps they all mistakenly beleive they are safe and go to the church for the simple reason of going to church and trying to find some solace in the horror they've all been through (and mistakenly think is over.)" It would be ironic if there were two deaths in the church, as if the candle somehow took Danny (or someone else) out.

Posts: 167 (06/25/09 3:07 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	the sound effects in that spoiler video are hilarious. also, don't you guys think the producer who came up with the 1/3 quote could have been talking about wakefield? i mean, it's sort of a stretch but it COULD apply.... and, yeah, the whole "1 killer" thing is not technically true... but it's true that there's one killer among the 25 suspects... so that's not technically a lie either... besides, if wakefield was listed as one of the original suspects, it would have made the whole shocking reveal of him being alive pretty anti-climatic. and the whole mystery of digging up his grave/being tracked by the sheriff/his journal/and his child less......mysterious....

At least there was some doubt as to whether or not Wakefield killed the sheriff. What a cop out and a disappointment! I'll admit that Wakefield is one scary dude. Definite victims of Wakefield - Nikki, Shane, Sheriff Mills Probable victims of Wakefield - Cole, Maggie, Kelly, Beth Possible victims of Wakefield - Uncle Marty, JD, Malcolm I think all the other deaths were done by someone else since they were either committed against members of the Wellington Family or were done to sabotage the wedding (the Reverend) or we saw clues that the killer was a guest at the Candlewick Inn (Lucy, Hunter).

Spoiler [+] This reasoning always makes me laugh. Don't you think that somebody who is not a guest at the Candlewick could pick up something (matches/gun) from the Candlewick? I mean, it's not like the evidence is something so specific that the only way to possibly have it would be if you were staying there...

Henry found Richard's body in the previous episode. At the time that Shea snapped at Abby, they knew that Richard was dead and he could not have been Madison's kidnapper. Wakefield seems to be the most likely person to have kidnapped Madison but we didn't actually see him do it. In any case, I still suspect Shea as the second killer. Is it really a coincidence that Richard was killed just after Trish revealed the Richard/Katherine affair to Shea or that Katherine was found dead just after Shea lashed out at her? Why would Shea leave the Inn on foot supposedly to go see a psychic when there is a killer on the loose? We didn't see much grieving from Shea after her father was murdered. In the 5 episodes that Thomas was alive, I don't remember a single conversation between him and Shea. Shea has been under the radar. We don't see much of her except when she is doting over Madison. For such a doting mother, she didn't seem to put much effort into finding Madison. Abby did a lot more than she did. Shea has a motive for stopping the wedding and killing the other Wellingtons and that is to become the sole heir to the Wellington fortune. We don't know who closed the pool cover and tried to drown Trish. Most are assuming that either Henry or Richard did it.

Now I only have Julia as my INVgoddess. :eyeroll @ Shane dieing after becoming a badass hero. But, how do we know he dies? Well, it is kinda obvious, but I think it is horrible to lose the sassy people, 1st we lose Maggie, and now Shane? I'm LIVID!!!!!!!

Spoiler [+] Yes, but the producers could have just as well not had the Candlewick Inn logo on the book of matches used to burn Lucy or on the gun that killed Hunter. That was done to intentionally give the viewers clues that the killer of those 2 people was staying at the Candlewick Inn. There was even a promo which showed a bunch of vidcaps that were labelled as clues which included the gun and the matches.
