They were stupid for what they did to Makelele, who was probably their best player ever. I was actually watching the USA vs Spain game with a bunch of friends who were Liverpool fans (ew) so obviously they were Spain supporters. It was hilarious USA ftw! I love Brazil but it would be amazing to see the Americans win. Not going to hold my breath but stranger things have happened...

Whatever else happens, this is the most important game that the US has ever played in soccer. Ever.

The England game is intereating to read about, but it was an aberration, and had no impact on the sport's popularity at home. Beating Mexico was immensely satsifying though. I hate those fuckers.

Face it: they damn near lost to China on home turf in a shoot-out. And since then haven't made the championship game. Oh well. It's good for the sport, I guess, and probably really good for tweener girls to have sports heroines that don't look like the Chinese gymnasts.

Lmao, the Confederations Cup IS second tier. It's a complete joke. All the best teams are in Europe, with a few in South America. The Euro Cup is the most competitive obviously, followed by the World Cup.. No one gives a damn about the Confederations Cup.

As well as multiple other championships. To me, that beats never making a FIFA final before. I'm watching the game, what the fuck is this horn going off the entire time?
