Obama seems to have learned from what happened to Clinton, and understands there will be a voter backlash in 2010 and 2012, so he's pushing through so much stuff that it will take any conservative dominated Congress years (or even decades) to undo the damage he'll have done in a single year.

What I'm looking for next year is a reverse of what happened in 2006 with the House and Senate. Then in 2012 as it becomes abundantly clear that Obama and his policies are even worse for the country than Carter's were, a repeat of 1980 in the Presidential race and a repeat of 1994 in the congressional races.

If the Nevada GOP could ever get its fucking act together the Senate Majority Leader would be voted out in 2010. Reid is less popular than Ensign even after Ensign's affair became public. Reid's approval rating is around 32%.

I think there's a pretty good shot of the Pubs picking up Reid's, Dodd's and Biden's seats next year. Wouldn't that be absolutely hilarious and strike fear into the hearts of red state Dems everywhere? But the one race that would really blow the minds of libs all over the nation would be if Specter's seat goes to Toomey, there's no way they could put a positive spin on that.

Even if the Pubs picked up Nevada, Connecticut and Delaware, can they hang on to Missouri, Ohio and New Hampshire at the same time to maintain their mighty forty-one Senate seats? It's not like the Republicans are completely rock solid in those states.

As pissed as some rabid anti-Obama people might be with him and the Democrats I really don't see most folks that excited about Republicans either or having any faith that they could improve things if they somehow miracled themselves back into power.

But you are right that if Toomey were to win the Pennsylvania Senate seat that would really blow my mind. What also would blow my mind is if we went a month without some Republican Bible-thumping blowhard getting caught publicly with his pants down.

Your party can't even decide who's in charge. How are you ever going to find viable candidates to run against all those evil Democrats in 2010?
