Power swings back and forth and all of the power that obama has taken.....uh, are they not aware that one day a Republican will be in charge again and they
will have control of all of these things that theGov is taking over.

It's not like the Republicans are completely rock solid in those states. As pissed as some rabid anti-Obama people might be with him and the Democrats I really don't see most folks that excited about Republicans either or having any faith that they could improve things if they somehow miracled themselves back into power. But you are right that if Toomey were to win the Pennsylvania Senate seat that would really blow my mind. What also would blow my mind is if we went a month without some Republican Bible-thumping blowhard getting caught publicly with his pants down. |

memyselfandi wrote: Remember how a few years back voters in traditionally blue states were voting Dem for Senate seats, even if they liked the Pub candidate better, because they wanted to deny Bush control of the Senate? The next two elections you're going to see the same thing happening in reverse in the traditionally red states. At this point, I don't see the Pubs in PA coming up with a credible gubernatorial candidate, so the question is who will Casey appoint to take his seat after the election next year? You may get your wish and have Sestak end up in the Senate anyway, but in 2012 I see Ridge running for that seat and taking it due to anti-Obama sentiment. Look for a whole lot of that happening nationwide in 2012. |

It's fascinating to watch the conservative "thought" process in action. You all act as if the totality of the American public were somehow duped
in 2006 and 2008 into voting for Democratic candidates. You conveniently forget that your party had full control of the government for at least 6 years and
nearly ran it into the ground. THAT is why Democrats started winning in 2006 and 2008. People saw what the Pubes were capable of doing and started showing them
the door.
Your party can't even decide who's in charge. How are you ever going to find viable candidates to run against all those evil Democrats in 2010? |

A lot of people had forgotten what the Dems were capable of doing after being out of power for 12 years and there were others who had never experienced the Dems being in charge, so they thought it would have to be an improvement. Now they're learning just how wrong they were. If you bother to read the issue polls, the public is overwhelmingly against the Dems priority projects and support among independents is plummeting. You're the one living in a dream world if you don't think this is going to come back and bite them in the ass. |

Honestly, whoever we elected last year was doomed to fail. Two wars and a bad economy?
If all three scenarios are not resolved quickly and with popularity, then noone would stand a chance in 2012. |

I think the Burris (or whatever that appointed Senator's name is) seat is in jeopardy in IL, however, he might get knocked off in the primary so the
Republicans may still not get that seat turned. They can't manage to nominate someone who stays out of jail or doesn't get caught cheating on his wife
over there in IL.
I think a lot of the newly elected Dems in the House will be very vulnerable in 2010 if they voted for this cap and tax, as well as quadrupling the one year debt, etc etc. They ran as conservative dems and are voting way left of their constituents. If I was running against any incumbant, all of my ads would be running as "HE/SHE IS VOTING ON BILLS HE/SHE NEVER READ" and then point out some of the really bad impacts these crazy bills are going to have on joe 6 pack america. Easy as pie.
