I wish Debbie Rowe would go after sole custody of the kids cause she can't be worse than the Jacksons.Just the way Joe talked about them at the BET awards
sounds like he'll be running/ruining their lives too.
I could never imagine being able to go out in public to a stupid award show less than 2 days after losing a loved one.And all he did was self promote, throw his weight around proclaiming how "things will be now" and he certainly didn't look broke up.This guy's a real lowlife. |

Those people have fucking issues. Sobbing over MJ's death and feeling more upset than their own family members dying?
And I hope they don't prop Farrah up near MJ. She shouldn't be touching scum like that. Shouldn't they separate angels from demons anyways? |

All I have to say about this freak dying is that Paul had better finally get the rights to the Beatles songs and I wish his kids all the best.

Seems most thought the "tribute" tasteless lol. http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/06/2009-bet-awards-were-liveblogging-it.html?xid=rss-feed-todayslatest-BET+Awards+%2709%3A+We+live+blogged+it%21 Here's just a few comments : Carmen Ayers Sun, Jun 28,

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! What an embarrasment! What a mockery! What an utter mess it was. Ne Yo, Beyonce, Maxwell, and Janet were the only respectful artist throughout the evening. I expected more of a tribute to a pop icon. Jamie Foxx was over the top, although I am sure that he meant well. Most of the artist were tooting there own horns, and did not even pay there respect. This was terrible, and I am ashamed that other cultures of people were watching. BET has to know that this is not ok. LIL Wayne was totally innappropriate and classless! Please everyone who was dissappointed, write into the show. Let them know that this show did not depict what African Americans have become. This show took us many steps back in time. tg Sun, Jun 28, 2009 at

Yep, this was a horrible show. I don't think MJ would've wanted his name affiliated with this embarrassment. And Jamie Foxx...really...I just don't get him. He is right there with Kanye on the size of their egos. Jamie was unfunny, crass and ridiculouly embarrassing. I watched because I tho't there would be an actual tribute to MJ. The only good moment was Janet's surprise appearance. valerie Sun, Jun 28, 2009

I think the people leaving comments are being extremely negative. I thank BET for really honoring a man who across the map contributed so much to our culture, who we truly loved and appreciated. great show!! RIP MJ!!! dolores miles Sun, Jun 28,

I just finished watching the BET Awards. I can truly say I was disappointed. I understand the show was changed due to honor MJ, but I felt they missed the point. I enjoyed some parts of the show only because it showed honor to MJ. In contrast, to watching some performers use the N word so freely in the mist of diginified people who I believe were probably insulted. I expected more from BET. Some of the performances were more appriorate for another time not a MJ Tribute. I hope another program prepares a better tribute to MJ...because he is truly missed. Disbelief2009 Sun, Jun 28,

I can't get those three plus hours of my life back:< BET executives should have continued with their original layout for this award show and concluded with a montage tribute at the end. This was Foolywang! Please BET, redeem yourselves by giving Michael Jackson a proper tribute show at a future date with stars like Stevie Wonder, Usher, and Chris Brown. hottxchick Sun, Jun 28,

I can't believe I sat through over three hours of this garbage. This was not a tribute to Michael Jackson it wasn't even a decent award show. Beverly Sun, Jun 28, 2009

I can't even put into words how much this show looked "slapped together". When I heard "tribute", I saw artists performing his songs and doing some dance moves..not rapping and cursing then putting a nice little bow on the package with "we love you Mike!" I tried to give BET the benefit of the doubt b/c it was so last minute, but maybe they should have pushed the tribute until it could be done right and remember MJ in the beginning, some in the middle and wrap it up with a commemoration. Janet made it real...my heart goes out to her and the rest of the family. I LOVE Beyonce...but what was that? Disappointment is such an understatement! Jay Sun, Jun 28, 2009 at

i dont even know what to say right now... i am crying not because the awards was a success, but an upmost disaster. i cannot believe that BET would give not even a thought to the fact that the Jackson family is in mourning right now and this is the best that they could come up with??? WTF? I felt so bad for Joe Jackson, and for Janet to come on stage and have to look at them cutting up... speechless. New Edition, Ne-Yo, Ciara, and Jamie gave it their best, but it was no comparison to the precision and heart that Michael put on stage for us. BET made us as a race look bad, and then have the nerve to call it the best award show ever! Are you serious??? im not just mad, i am furious... i am so ashamed for the family. They (and mostly, Michael Jackson) deserved so much more. three hours of BET's time is not asking for much, given that Mike gave 45 years for us. i have never in my life felt so low as i have right now... rest in peace, Michael. i am so sorry. I cannot believe the crap of a show they put together in honor of the great, creative masterpiece titled MICHAEL JACKSON. What was BET thinking? I didn't like Jamie Foxx's introduction and surely didn't like the show apart from the O'jays tribute. MJJ's name should not have been associated with this clown act, he was above all this, he was original there was none of that there. Janet and your family my prayers are with you and can't believe the humiliating atrocity you had to endure tonight. kh Sun, Jun 28, 2009 at

Did you notice how most of the crowd at the BET awards show just stood there looking embarrassed during that pathetic Lil Wayne spectacle? It was everything
that is wrong with rap in a nutshell, and to have it as the last thing before Janet Jackson came out bordered on sacriligious. I was really uncomfortable,
sitting here alone in my own living room.
If MJ wasn't already dead, this probably would have killed him. Funny how BET spends three hours trying to put their best foot forward as well as honor Michael Jackson, and then undoes it all in just a few minutes of lowest common denominator knuckle-dragging rubbish. |

At a blog I frequent there was plenty of talk about the performance, and this comment had me laughing like crazy.
Souljah Boy's performance alone is gonna get our voting rights repealed. Call me racist, but damn, that was funny. |
