With Cal and Chloe gone, my heart is no longer in this, and I could honestly care less who the killer is. Blow the whole fucking island up for all I care.

Pretty sure it is Wakefield. The practicality of running and crawling all over the island is out the window. If it was another person -that would be an intended surprise and the 101 writing would indicate such with Danny saying, "That HAS to be Wakefield!" and then a quick cut to Wakefield somewhere else. |

THX you DREW for pointing out that there is NO way in HELL that JIMMY could have known Wakefield in Prison. HELLO he was put in prison 24 years ago! (was in prison for 17 years...got out and killed then dissappeared for 7 years) ABBY is 24 and JIMMY is (25?) seriously think about the time line and the story that we know before you post every bullshit thought that enters your brain! I am still not convienced that wakefield has an acomplice. BUT...he is yelling to someone in hte promo. oh.... Who came at Danny/Sully with that hollowed out narrow pipe (it wasn't Wakefield's boarding knife) at the blocked up tunnel entrance in the pantry? Pretty sure it was Wakefield...he had a Harpoon type knife with a long steel handle. Why not kill them...they are unimportant and messing with them was just fun. and... WHY didn't Henry/Abby shoot at wakefield when he was on the bridge? Well...they had shotguns, you don't get much distance with a shotgun, No way they would have hit him. YOu'd need a deer rifle. ALL the guns at the Candlewick were shotguns used for skeet/sporting clays the ammo is LIGHT bird shot. Even a direct hit wouldn't kill you unless you were in REAL close range. (anyone remember Chenny's bird hunting trip?) SO..I think it was conserve ammo... we can't hit him at this range type of thinking!

I feel like this show is now a completely differentNot so. That so-called bingo card was from the very beginning planned misdirection by the writers. What is amazing is how many folk bought into it -- questionable detective skills on many folks' parts is all that was. |

I agree with Gregoire....I was only watching it for the story of Cal and Cloe! I'm done!! Boo......
Poorly done. Can't we have just one show where things end great for someone?? eeesh. (love the scene where Cloe gets her ring back! I love it!) |

I think the killer is either Trish or Shea.
Sherrif: You're MY daughter. Look at how he enphasized my. It would mean that Wakefield has a daughter. Shea? I think so. |

Understandermant wrote: ..but if the writers wanted the killer to be Jimmy they could easily make it so after Ben's death by making it so he went to the mainland did that to Ben and then went back to Harper's Island before the wedding party got on board. My points were that until Wakefield showed up we were under the impression there was one killer and it was one of the 25 suspects. Nikki was off the hook after Kelly's death because no one else was there when she found the body so it would be bad writing for her to find Kelly like she did and stil have her be the killer. Madison was inside the house and Richard saw her when he died so she was off the hook after his death. Shane and JD were in jail for the guards death (not to mention Shane was in jail for Malcolm and Richard's deaths as well) so they were off the hook. Sheriff was inside Cole's cabin when Cole died so he was off the hook at that point. Until Maggie's death (and I guess arguably Beth and Katherine's) those were the only people who COULD NOT have done the killings. Everyone else still, by some stretch, could have done it. |

That line has been used in mant soap opera/drama show etc .... Jimmy did seem surprized to Abby whn she got off the boat. I am sure most of the locals knew of the BIG WELLINTON wedding though.
Actually at COLE Harkins death was when people figured out something was up... JD and Shane were in jail, deputy shot and JD escaped. The sheriff was inside.... Jimmy and Abby were together....Cal,Chole,Sully, and Beth were together getting on the boat... Danny was with Shea and Madison at the Candlewick....Henry and Trish were together....freed Shane from jail. Ever sense that episode everyone has had an alibi they were never alone...thus Wakefield was brought in as the killer. |

pjadedd wrote: I too am turning in this last week only because it's the last episode. My curiosity always has me making bad decisions. In terms of a murder mystery, this recommendation may be juvenile, but there's an older book that I enjoyed when I was younger and reread it within the last 2 months and it still held up was "The Westing Game" (I forget the author's name as well as how to underline book titles). I found it in a box of my belongings I took from my parents' home the last time I was there. It'll probably be a quick read for you PJ. As for Agatha Christie murder mysteries, Public Television is showing a new Agatha Christie murder mystery movie each Sunday night. Last night was "Mrs. McGinty's Dead", and it wasn't bad. Next week is "Pocket Full of Rye." The problem with Agatha Christie murder mysteries that I have is that I never have correctly suspected the actual murderer. You're a better guess than me, so you'll probably have much greater luck with her mysteries, books or movies, than me. (I did like the Poirot mysteries "Cards on the Table" and "Dead Man's Folly" I guess). |

Que wrote: Thank you. Slight correction, though. Henry had left Trish with Shea/Madison/Danny and headed to the marina after Beth/Sully/Cal/Chloe. Henry was alone, but the time frame wouldn't make sense for him to have gotten to Harkin's cabin, killed him, and still made it to the marina so soon after Beth/Sully/Cal/Chloe... |

I'm almost embarrassed to say this because I'm usually a cynical bastard... but I'm still sad about the whole Cal/Chloe thing.
The desperation in Cal's voice when he was calling to her was such a contrast to the search parties looking for Madison and calling for her like the Brady's looking for Bobby and Cindy in the Grand Canyon. He was so believeable in that And Chloe's uncontrollable sobbing when Cal finally found her was the most authentic crying in the series (and considering that none of her family was murdered, that's pretty sad for the rest of the characters). I think what some people are forgetting is that these people are seasoned soldiers who do things rationally in a state of panic. Just shooting blindly would have seemed to be enough to keep someone at bay. Both Trish and Cal had an advantage in that respect, Trish with the door and Cal with the fence, to limit Wakefield's movement so their aim would be truer. But panic makes them shoot first and ask questions later... sad. And who knows... maybe Wakefield fucked with the aims of the guns (it's a stretch, I know) so that's why he was so confident he wouldn't be hit. I don't know... I'm just trying to rationlize why people are acting so dumb on the island and why my two favorite characters had to die. I don't care who survives anymore even though that dumbfuck Abby will live and do some stupid soliloquy... fuck her and her pinched face ass I'll just keep listening to that Letters From the Sky song and imagining Cal and Chloe sailing off to Hawaii, Chloe with the captain's hat on her head and both drinking martinis and talking about their wedding on the beach |
