My FreeCycle server is so gonna kick your PC's ass!
( Do any other multimedia files skip? Did you check the fans and temp as was suggested? You may want to uninstall and reinstall your drivers - maybe even your audio drivers too ) |

How do you check the fans and temperature?

Open the case and look for fans. There should be one on the motherboard on top of the CPU. Use compressed air to blow it out because the heat sinks are a dust
bunny magnet. There should at least one other fan on the case, usually on the back.
The temp is tested through either diagnostic software or at boot time by entering the setup of your PC's BIOS. Or you could put your tongue on the CPU... once. If the fans are turning I would assume your temperature is safe - I would uninstall all components and reinstall one at a time with the latest drivers. |

Hmm, maybe our problems are different. Mine doesn't go into sleep mode unless I put it there, but waking it back up is the problem (not all the time). Usually something wonky between the charger and the battery. Couple different things to try... 1, unplug it and run the battery completely out. Then charge again, see if that helps. Also, you could try, taking the battery out, then turning it on (with the charger plugged in, duhh), then put the battery back in. I've had to juggle similar things, and one of those two usually kicks it. |

The big fan blowing directly onto the motherboard is turning. Not sure how strong it is blowing though. The other fan is built into the power supply and I can
feel the air pressure from that one. I blew out the dust but it doesn't seem that bad. Blerg. I hate these things.

Hmmm...I downloaded DirectX 10 and installed it again and things seem better. Hopefully that is all it will take and it isn't a hardware problem at all.

I'm telling you:
System Fan Speed: N/A means you should throw the PC in the tub and pour mollasss over it pronto! |

Turns out that fans only cost like 5 bucks and are super easy to install.

I can't stand laptops. I'm sure I would get used to it if I had to use one for work or something but I really don't like them at all.
