When you live in the Village who the fuck cares about Greek life? But I'm sure the writers won't care about that tiny detail. They'll probably invent some century old Greek system from scratch that never existed at the commuter school. I wouldn't be surprised if they invented some secret society, i.e. Skull & Bones, as well.

Sources confirm that Joanna Garcia, star of The CW's axed-too-soon Privileged, has booked a four-episode arc on Gossip Girl as a love interest for Chace Crawford's affluent alter ego. Garcia will play Bree Buckley, an irreverent, slightly evil Miss America-type who hails from a conservative Southern family. She'll first appear in the Sept. 14 season premiere. Hilary Duff joins the cast of Gossip Girl as movie star Olivia Burke for the Oct. 5 episode titled "Dan de Fleurette," and we have the exclusive first look at Duff in character on the set! Duff's character is assigned to be Vanessa's (Jessica Szohr) roommate at NYU-their dorm room is the setting of the still above-and through Vanessa, Olivia gets to know Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley). Olivia becomes attracted to Dan, and vica versa. Of course, there's a twist: Dan is so tuned out to pop culture that he doesn't realize the girl he's falling for is a huge movie star famous for her role in a Twilight-esque series of vampire movies. Still, the two college kids manage to make their odd-couple pairing work, and cuteness ensues. Yay! What do you think? Does Duff look like a good addition to the Gossip Girl cast? Do you think she'll be a good match for Dan?
