1. WHY do they talk so fast? Is it an economy thing --- the faster the dialogue the less film used?
2. Why don't we still use the term "flatfoot"? It's a great word, e.g. "You'll never catch me, copper! You bunch of flatfoots couldn't catch a cold, so cheese it Gumshoe. I've got a dizzy dame with gams up the wazhoo I'm sweet on. Go on, scram!"
3. Would someone like Bette Davis make it today? Bitch could put Al Pacino/Ed Harris to shame when it comes to chewing scenery. I just saw Petrified Forest, a good adaptation if only for my fave Leslie Howard. But that ending --> blargh.
4. WHY WHY WHY did Humphrey Bogart wear his pants hitched up to Fred Mertz levels? I'm hoping there's a medical reason to explain why he had to look so goofy whilst playing tough guys.
