I don't consider 29 to be old at all. But Melissa looks older than that to me. Maybe because it looks like she had work done on her face.

Melissa looks like a real 29 to me. Maybe because I'm 30, and she looks like my contemporaries. I think we're so used to seeing people on TV who
don't age naturally, people who are come across as looking older than they are, in comparison.
Another thing to consider is that as you get age, people look older if they lack fat in their face. Someone as bone thin as a ballet dancer is going to show age in her face earlier than a lot of other people. |

Definitely Shelly Duval.

Melissa is gorgeous no matter how old she is. <3
Oh and I checked my tivo and it's still fucking TWO HOURS next week. eta: Thanks for the clarification Dirk. I knew you didn't believe it, no matter which gay it was. |

The skin on Melissa's face looks like Silly Putty to me. Like Katherine Helmond's face from Brazil. That and not her chronological age is what makes
her look old.

Ugh. You're missing the point. Chronological age obviously helps determine HOW she looks. So yeah, her age is at least partly why she doesn't look
spring-fresh.
eta: I was talking to Hanson there, of course. Here's an unflattering pic of Melissa:
I don't see any of the weird and inappropriate tightness associated with people who've had work done. She's aging normally...for a ballerina. And she's still better looking than our lazy asses, I'll wager. :)

I thought ballerinas aged early because they subsisted on coffee, cigarettes, and cocaine. Kind of like models.

What was the reference Mary kept making to 5 1/2 hours? Is that how much time they are alloted with the choreographer? No way is it a reference to how much
practice time they put in before the show.

I couldn't disagree more with Nigel. Randi is definitely the weaker link in this pair. She did the moves, but she didn't make them pop. She is a serviceable dancer, but not a star. Evan always adds that extra spark to what he does. I understand that when somebody is great, you expect more, but it's not fair to act as if the mediocre dancer who met expectations is better than the amazing dancer who failed to exceed expectations…I wholeheartedly agree with you, Drew B. Randi is definitely the weaker link who just does the steps. Evan makes that chemistry happen between the two and always goes that extra mile. Randi was very heavy in that dance and never really gets into character. I honestly don't know what the judges are smoking - why they always have to put down Evan and not Randi and make HIM seem like the weaker link. They must be desperate for a girl winner, so they're being a lot harsher on the guys and giving the girls free passes. That's what I've noticed this season: judges being harsher on the guys then the girls. |

See, I thought Randi outshone Evan in that routine, and I usually don't care for her at all. But I LOVED the choreography (please, more Bob Fosse type
stuff!) and I hope they use this new choreographer much more for Broadway and cut down on Tyce's tired shit.
I don't get the love for Kupono and Kayla's routine. I agree with Hanson that Sonya's stuff is all quite same-y. The concept wasn't clear and the choreography didn't say much either. I found it all kind of lumbering. I really enjoyed Vitolio and Karla's number, which is saying something since I usually hate quick step. Caitlin's costume was atrocious, but I really bought the character she was portraying. The routine was kind of corny, but it seemed like it was supposed to be. Melissa's pretty, but like a lot of dancers, she's really not beautiful or as sexy until she's dancing. I don't think she's had work done -- most women who've had brow lifts don't have forehead wrinkles to the extent Melissa does in that above pic. That said, this season is really lacking in sexiness and charisma, imo. And I'm totally feeling the Janette/Shelley Duvall vibe sort of crossed w/ Carol Burnett (and don't get me wrong, I like Janette). |

Count me in as another one who thinks Melissa is old. At first it didn't occur me to that this show had an age limit so I was thinking she was like 40 or
something. Then I was like you know the age limit is probably 30, how old is this bitch. I don't think 29 is old at all but she still just comes across as
an old lady, I don't know why.
I think Karla and Vitolio will go tonight. Obviously the audience didn't care about either of their original pairings and I don't think they'll care about these two together either. Also I think being in the bottom 3 a 3rd time will give the judges their reason to boot them despite being good last night. |

Yeah, I think it's a safe bet if Karla and Vitolio are in the B3, one or both will go home. It's like they're damaged goods. I also have the
feeling though that there could be a bit of an upset. I'm thinking Caitlin better dance a really good solo...
