85. Margaret Bobonich (Survivor: Guatemala - 13th Place)

At first glance, it might seem like Margaret is just another of the many older women in Survivor history that I happen to be a fan of. And you're pretty much right in that regard, because in only five episodes, Margaret wasn't THAT great of a character, But still, she started off the game strong by getting into the majority alliance on Nakum while stronger players like Cindy and Judd failed to do the same. She also used her nurse training to help tend to all the guys on the tribe, save for Brandon, during the early part of the game, when they were sick, injured, and generally dehydrated. But really, there's one reason above all others that got Margaret this high on my list, and that's her feud with Judd. The two of them obviously didn't clique, with Judd being a tough guy from New York and Margaret being somewhat opinionated and weaker. And when Judd flipped on Nakum at the swap, she was pissed and tried her best to take him out, leading to one of the best tribal councils of all time in which she and Judd tore into one another without mercy, and Margaret played the straight man to Judd's bombastic personality. She was an integral part of characterizing Judd, and she was a smart player on top of that, so Margaret makes it pretty high on my list.


84. Kim Johnson (Survivor: Africa - 2nd Place)

Yeah, I know that this is probably my older woman bias again, by I have a lot of respect for Kim Johnson being the oldest player to make the final two for 13 seasons, only to be dethroned by someone who was still younger than she was at the current time. Kim was saved twice in a row as the weakest member of her tribe due to Diane and Jessie both falling ill due to dehydration early on in the heated environment of Africa. She helped her tribe score their first win using her luxury item of paints to make their campsite more visible while Samburu's just blended in with its surroundings. Plus, she also took the time, during that challenge, to show off the fact that she was wearing a thong, and didn't look too bad in it for a fifty-six year old woman. She made it to the swap where she helped set up the hilarious Clarence incident with the egg, and then she basically coasted the rest of the game up until the final four. Yeah, she made some dumb moves by not jumping ship on the Boran Boys, but still, the fact that she, the oldest player in the cast, I believe, managed to win the final two challenges to reach the final tribal council, is pretty amazing. Even if those two challenges WERE completely messed up and she probably wouldn't have won in any other situation.


83. Jenna Morasca (Survivor: All-Stars - 16th Place)

And here we come to a play who's pretty much guaranteed to win the "Most Improved" award from first season to second season. I hated Jenna in Amazon, as we've already established, yet going into All-Stars, she really wasn't that bad. Probably because there weren't a whole bunch of young girls for her to clique up with, and because she wasn't focused on as much. She quit in episode 3 to go home and be with her mom, which was so sad because her mom did end up dying of cancer shortly after she returned home. And of course, this high ranking isn't entirely based on her performance in All-Stars, but also due to her post-All-Stars career that couldn't be incorporated into her Amazon ranking. She's a huge Survivor fan, one of the earliest players to still post and pay attention to the show. And she's done a lot for PETA (despite the fact that PETA sucks and is crazy) and she's basically proven herself to be an amazing and nice person since her time in Survivor, plus her relationship with Ethan is just extremely sweet. It's hard to discuss this ranking because so much of it is based off post-show actions, but I just like what I've seen from Jenna since her stint on All-Stars.


82. Brian Corridan (Survivor: Guatemala - 12th Place)

One of the funniest things about Brian is just how ambiguously straight he is. I mean, he's just so effeminate that it makes you laugh to listen to him when he talks. Like with his "He may be gold, but I'm PLATINUM" confessional. Brian was a super-fan going into the show, and he was put on a tribe with fellow super-fan, Rafe (I don't get why that happened, given how stacked Nakum was as far as the men went), and the two of them butted heads. Brian managed to pull off several miracles during his time in the game, first by saving Lydia twice and booting Morgan and Brianna in the process (keeping himself off the chopping block in the process), and then by managing to turn a Nakum majority against one of their own by making Blake annoy the other players to the point where he was the easy choice to make sure the NuYaxha tribe stayed united. Brian almost managed to pull off another miracle, but sadly, Gary and Amy decided they'd rather stick to their new tribe than working with their old Yaxha ally. Not the best move for Amy, but certainly better than a tie. Brian was a really smart player and he's proven himself to still be a huge fan of the show, which is always a good things since recent seasons have casting which doesn't even care about the show before they make it on.


81. Jake Billingsley (Survivor: Thailand - 6th Place)

Jake started off his time in Survivor by being singled out as the oldest man in the game, and then having to pick his own tribe opposite Jan. He wound up picking every young player in the cast (save for Tanya), leaving a sizable generation gap between him and his tribemates. Yet that didn't stop his game. He worked well with his team and he was basically the leader of his alliance as a very likable guy. Granted, his tribe was screwed due to their own stupidity in throwing a challenge to boot Jed, but even then, Jake used his social game to stay in the game and outlast his only two remaining tribemates at the merge. Jake proved to be a very shrewd player, and I just liked his attitude in the face of defeat. The one thing I have to criticize Jake about is the fact that he was the only member of the Sook Jai tribe not to vote for Clay to win, thus preventing an awesome Clay victory. But he was apparently pissed at Clay for Clay yelling at him or calling him out after Penny's boot, so I can't really fault him for bringing personal feelings into things.

80. Richard Hatch (Survivor: Borneo - 1st Place)

As I've said, this ranking keeps the two appearances of a player seperate, so while I like Richard, a lot of my like for him comes from his appearance on All-Stars and my growth of appreciation for him since then. During Borneo, I was rooting for Kelly and Rudy both more than him because at the time, I just preferred them because they were nice and honorable players while he was not. Still, Richard makes it very high on this list for his original appearance because he's just a very funny and charismatic guy. He's the king of Survivor, and as the first winner, he will always be a legend. He came into the game with a plan, having watched a similar show to Survivor that aired previously in Britain. He had things planned right down to the kinds of people he wanted to align himself with, like Sue and Rudy. With his strategy, Tagi took over and dominated the game, and it was all thanks to a fat, gay guy who liked to go around camp completely naked (which made it THAT much funnier.) He provided for his tribe in the form of fishing and Richard basically proved himself time and again as a great player. Again, this ranking is solely because my appreciation for Richard mainly came from after All-Stars, so the two seperate rankings need to be kept seperate.


79. Christa Hastie (Survivor: Pearl Islands - 6th Place)

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Christa, despite her not really being the biggest character. Really, her alliance with Sandra and Rupert has gotta be one of my favorite alliances of all time because I liked each and every member of said alliance. Christa, on paper, should've annoyed the crap out of me what with her nasally voice (granted, it wasn't as high-pitched and irritating as Erinn), but she made up for that for being a total nerd that was just so adorably goofy and awkward. Hell, she was a computer programmer for crying out loud. You don't get much nerdier than that. Anyway, Christa apparently annoyed the shit out of most people in the game, because the Morgans wanted her out and Burton threw a challenge in order to boot her (owned, by the way). But I never saw that. I saw a goofy and lovable girl who was best friends with spitfire Sandra and pirate Rupert. She even destroyed her favorite dress so that Rupert could have a skirt to wear instead of his sopping wet jea.ns. And then she really got amazing when she held as much as muscle-man Osten during the episode six immunity challenge, single-handedly keeping her tribe in the challenge after Shawn's absolute failure. She was booted at 6, but she was still adorable and I like her a lot for someone who wasn't a huge character.


78. Natalie Bolton (Survivor: Micronesia - 4th Place)

I started out absolutely hating Natalie for the first ten episodes or so, first because she looked like a freakish and completely unhot cat person (seriously, this is why furries are better than catgirls). Seriously, she was completely mute until Jason's boot episode, which surprisingly still made her more interesting than Alexis, aka the most useless fan in the entire cast. But then Jason's boot episode came up, and he went to Natalie, believing her to be his closest ally as the first person to suggest not voting him out during the previous immunity challenge's discussion phase. That was Natalie went from nobody to completely awesome. She became a complete and utter psychopath, completely devoted to destroying each and every penis left in the game. She talked about flossing her teeth with Jason's jugular vein and smacking him around, and then she blindsided him out of the game with his hidden immunity idol going unplayed. Then at the final five, she was a huge part in getting Erik to give up his hard-earned immunity necklace by guilting him into protecting her, because she was clearly done for if he didn't do so. And even when she was voted out, her jury speech was so bizarrely sexual that you couldn't help but laugh as she was totally trying to flirt with Parvati. Sadly, we were denied the hilarity of Natalie's character for most of the season, so I can't rank her higher than this.


77. Kelly Goldsmith (Survivor: Africa - 9th Place)

A big part of why Kelly ranks this high is because she really was one of the few players in her season who legitimately seemed to show intelligence through the course of her time on the show. She was in with the Boran Boys, but she had to have known that she wasn't going to make it far with them, so she was probably much more likely to make a move than Kim Johnson was. Kelly was responsible for finally taking megabitch Lindsey out of the game by overhearing a conversation with Brandon in which it was revealed that Lindsey had past votes, which was all the Boran half of NuSamburu needed to break the three to three tiebreaker at their tribal council. Then, thanks to some unexpectedly brilliant gameplay from Teresa and annoying gameplay from Lex, Kelly became the target at the final 9, despite Boran only having a one vote majority and Kelly being closely aligned with Lex, all because Lex was so sure that she had cast a stray vote for him. So Kelly jumped ship to the Samburus and her move meant nothing as Brandon fucked everything up by jumping over to the Borans, and Kelly was blindsided. But I liked Kelly's final voting speech, where she quoted The Graduate due to Ethan coming closer to having picked the number she was thinking off. Kelly was so robbed.


76. Anthony Robinson (Survivor: Fiji - 13th Place)

And at last, the final member of the worst tribe in Survivor history appears on my list. Seriously, Anthony was the only good thing on NuRavu (although Alex and Edgardo weren't that bad at the time the tribe was formed) so of course he was the first boot because the tribe couldn't have anyone who was actually intelligent instead of Rocky sticking around. Anthony was a nerd and kind of a loser, but it was adorable, because he seemed like a really sweet guy. Earl liked him, but that might've been because Earl formed an all-black alliance early on and Anthony was part of that. But really, Anthony was a really smart and cute guy and you had to feel bad for him getting picked on by Rocky for no reason other than Rocky was insecure about the size of his dick and he needed to make someone else look bad given how many times he fucked up challenges for the Ravu tribe. Anthony never stooped to Rocky's level though, and he never resorted to screaming back at Rocky or insulting him, even when Rocky was basically being a dick and telling him to stand up for himself while never letting Anthony get a word in edgewise. I have a lot of respect for that and Anthony's positivity, like everyone else from Fiji who made it this far, helped to improve an otherwise extremely negative season.
