From my experience, the seasons that my first-time friends like are always different than the seasons that typical sucksters like, because all of us on sucks
have seen every season already. Most people on sucks don't care much for Palau or Cook Islands, but most non-fans who I've made watch them LOVE those
two seasons, because they're more like epic movies than the savage cut-throat gameplay that we like.
Marquesas, Amazon, Vanuatu, and Palau are my picks for a good first watch. Cook Islands, too, but the HII rule might be one rule too many for a first timer. |

Well, before I started watching Survivor from the first season somewhere last year, I wasn't really willing to watch the Survivor(s) that were showing on
TV (Exile Island, Cook Island, Fiji...etc) because I thought the whole Hidden Immunity Idol and stuff was so complicated and I put it off. But really, if you
watch from the early seasons, you appreciate these twists and it's definitely more impact-ful and easy to follow.

I know it's a matter of opinion, but it should really be one of the first two.
Marquesas is great, but someone who's never seen Survivor won't get what a big deal the power shift was. |

Well typically I use humor to get new fans... Coach/Sandy were a great way to get some of my firends to watch to see this crazy old lady and insane dude. So
that could be one way to go.

Micronesia is a good option, just because it was blindside after blindside after blindside. The season had alot of epic characters that it may be too much to
pass up. However, if you wanna have good gameplay but start out simple (No exile/HII/Favorites) the you should go with Marquesas/Amazon. If you want your
friends to hate what American logic has come to, show them Africa. If you want your friends to hate themselves, show them Cook Islands and Thailand. If you
want them to kill someone, show them Fiji. Or if you want them to die or boredom, show them Big Brother season 1.

Borneo to the latest recent season. Australia is overrated.

If you think they will watch the whole series then just have them watch the show in order. If they are the type to not want to watch a show if they think it
will be boring then don't have them watch one of the boring seasons like Borneo, Australia, or Palau. Have them watch a good one like Pearl Islands
first.

Re: What season should I show someone?

I would recommend that you show someone who hasn't seen Survivor before season 16 Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites. It is one of maybe the three favorite
seasons of long-time Survivor fans because after the merge and up to the finale, almost every vote was unpredictable, and not even Jeff Probst was able to
guess who would be voted out of the game. It culminated in Erik winning Immunity and getting voted out. It culminated in Erik giving away his hard-fought and
hard-won Immunity to Natalie, who didn't need Immunity. I bet that not only were Survivor fans surprised but also the people who try to spoil the show and
predict ahead of time who is voted out. These folks probably read the "prophesy" if you will and were like, "What? Erik wins Immunity and is
voted out? How is that possible?" So, in conclusion, I guess giving up Immunity only works for people like Jenna Morasca. And I would recommend that you
show Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites to your friend(s), especially the episodes after the merge.

Borneo or Australia, the ones that aren't full of twists first.

Coming from a newer Survivor Fan

I remember watching parts of Borneo when it aired, but I didn't get into it fully. However, I did start up again with China the whole show sucked me in
then I went from that season to Cook Islands, which I liked and then Exile which I enjoyed as well.
Then I decided to go in order, for a new fan I wouldn't go in order, the first one is to be watched by people who truly love Survivor and want to see where it all started. But I have since watched every season so my top picks for sucking people in would be the China, Cook Islands, Exile or just go by what kind of person they are, if they like all the drama give them Exile or Gabon with all the fighting and disagreements. But if they like competitions then go with Cook Islands or Guatemala. Each season has its own unique quality too it which is why so many people on this site can never agree on which season is the best. |

After Thailand or Amazon, the season cycle reverted to Borneo in cable channel.

Show them Fiji first, to tell them what happens when they screw up casting.
