I also think the choreographers sticking her in toe shoes in the group numbers (something that they don't get to do very often) is adding to her seeming like a one trick pony. Either way, it's not her fault, and she has been good in everything that's been given to her. No the disco wasn't fantastic, but Disco is very rarely fantastic and she was better than most from previous seasons.

At other boards I've been going to, the Ade fans have been bitching that Evan is "coasting on his popularity". And I'm all, well duh you fuckwits! This IS a popularity contest, what can you expect? I mean, after 7 seasons of AI and 4 and a half seasons of SYTYCD, you'd think people would wake up and realize these competitions aren't trying to find "America's most talented". I guess there are some out there who are still in denial. America definitely got it right this week - it was time for Krapono and Miss Piggy to go. Yes to Krapono leaving; he should've been gone in week two, but it's clearly obvious that Evan was the one carrying the Randi/Evan duo, seeing that he didn't land in the bottom two last night. Blech to the BEP. I haven't liked any of their music since they added the Ferg.

Ade has been way more versatile, we saw that in the African routine were Ade KILLED it and Evan looked completely ridiculous. I realize this is a popularity contest and that's why I want Jeanine and only jeanine to win BUT the point I was trying to make was that Ade is an overall better dancer than Evan. That being said I still want both Evan and Kupono inside me over Ade.

It sounds funnier -- "Randi got Binked last night". Ade's solos have a few impressive acrobatics, but they were the epitome of "a collection of tricks and little dancing". Actually, Marquis solo is more impressive than either of Ade's solos. Holy shit, Randi does look like Kellie Pickler, doesn't she? Especially when she smiles with the her mouth agape. I didn't really like the opening number all that much (the only one that really impressed me this season was Mia's "Higher Ground"), but part of it was that I had already seen a Japanese martial arts themed group number in the Australian version, and this seemed a bit copycat while I was watching it. I'm not going to change my mind just because I found out it was Wade after the fact.

And Randi looks like the dumpy fat uninteresting sister of Kellie Pickler. I loved seeing the look of disbelief on Ade's smug face last night when he was in the bottom 2.

Posts: 707 (07/17/09 11:12 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I think that they made that "best vs favorite" distinction in season one when Blake got cut before the finals because of his personality even though he was arguably the best dancer on the show. This extended in season 2 when Benji won over Travis. Sabra over Danny in season 3. In season four, I think Twitch was supposed to beat Will, but Josh and Katee took over the show. So I suspect this season it will be either Jeanine or Janette over Brandon. It could be Evan, but they seem to be throwing him under the bus week after week, so it's hard to imagine TPTB want him to win. So this idea of "America's Favorite Dancer" is really designed to relegate the "best" dancer to second place.
