No latte, just a Kroger columbian coffee with hazelnut creamer. Addicted to the stuff. I rarely post, but have been following Sucks for a couple of years. |

Um, 10% employment means that those 10% of people don't have health insurance.
*I* do not have insurance through my employer. Luckily, my husband's employer actually gives a shit about its employees, but in the event I want to get a divorce, I'm fucked. |

lilnubber wrote: Where in the US Constitution does it say if your husband divorces you the Government is to provide you with free healthcare? Also, where does it read that you MUST have this insurance or they will FINE you? My FIST healthcare plan would look like this... If you don't have it and need it, apply like foodstamps or welfare. Then, you get a card or a stipend or something. Forcing the WHOLE country to change their coverage because a few douchebags don't have it is nuts. |

You really need to switch to decaf.
You do know that there will be private insurance, right? Only now they are going to be forced to be more competitive. If they continue to fuck over patients, they can be dropped or shopped around since you will no longer be forced into your employer'soffering. And if they continue to fuck over hospitals and docs, the plan will be dropped. A two-tiered system isn't the boogy boogy the GOP is making it out it be; France and Australia are quite happy with theirs. Best tweet of the day: FLASH: Jim DeMint steps up his "Waterloo" campaign, produces Obama's Corsican birth certificate. |

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised - with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to
change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers
The public option won't be an option for many, but rather a mandate for buying government care. A free people should be outraged at this advance of soft tyranny. Washington does not have the constitutional or moral authority to outlaw private markets in which parties voluntarily participate. It shouldn't be killing business opportunities, or limiting choices, or legislating major changes in Americans' lives. It took just 16 pages of reading to find this naked attempt by the political powers to increase their reach. It's scary to think how many more breaches of liberty we'll come across in the final 1,002. http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=332548165656854

y'know ya' don't have to have insurance to see a doctor, right? You can always do this thing called PAY.

You forgot this part:
Drawn by a public option that will be 30% to 40% cheaper than their current premiums because taxpayers will be funding it, employers will gladly scrap their private plans and go with Washington's coverage. Well, duh, isn't that the whole premise of insurance that the more that pay in the cheaper it is for everyone? Maybe the CEO of United Health will have to cut his 125 million a year salary to make his company more competitive. |

In a call asking for support on health care reform from liberal bloggers, President Obama admits that he is not familiar with a key provision of the
bill he is pushing.
The health reform bill is a legal document that is more than 1,000 pages long, and by every measure requires a good amount of time to go through and digest.
The health care reform legislation is massive in scope and in impact, so it seems logical that the executive and legislative branches should
take the time to read it.
According to The Examiner, "He asked: 'Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?' Obama replied: "You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about." http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/276317 So he is either a stupid fuck or a lying asshole, which one? |

Congress writes the bill remember?
But you know what, I really don't care if he's aware of it or not. I simply don't so rave all you want. If private insurance as we know it goes down the tubes that's fine with me. Karen Ignagni, CEO America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Ignagni's total compensation, according to AHIP's most recent filing from 2007, was $1.58 million, which includes $700,000 in base salary, $370,000 in deferred compensation and a bonus. Ignagni won't say how many hours a week she works. The number's so high it's embarrassing, she said. http://www.washingtonpost.com/... And let's not forget the SCHIP program. Doesn't that cover the chirdrens? The final bill designates $ 24.7 billion to aid estimated 7 million people have already been or are expected to be involuntarily terminated between Sept. 1, 2008 and 31 December 2009, paying 65% health insurance available to them through 23-year-old Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act program. So don't get a divorce unless your hubby forst gives you a job and terminates you so you can qualify for the subsidized COBRA. |
