I noticed many of the similarities between ROBIN HOOD, ARISTOCATS and JUNGLE BOOK (weren't they released within years of each other?), but I hadn't
noticed some of the other similarities before. Cool vid.

Also....if you look closely in the Peter Pan cartoon.....you'll notice that Peter Pan and Tinkerbell both have pink triangles stitched onto their costumes.

Heh. Interesting vid. I had mentioned the fact that the character designs for Robin Hood were blatantly ripped off from Jungle Book in some other thread, but I
never really noticed the movements, particularly in the dancing sequences. I suspect that's largely because (in the case of RH) it's fairly pointless
sequence dictated more by the perceived necessity to actually have musical sequences in their films. So yeah, they obviously phoned that one in.
The Cinderella/Beauty and the Beast thing shouldn't be in there, though. I'm 99% sure I read somewhere around the time of release that that was a deliberate homage. |

Could Arabic people be depicted with any MORE of hookier noses?
And the killing of the Beast was clearly Walt warning the world against the price to be paid for inter-racial marraige. |

The thing that bugs me about Disney is when you go to the parks Beast is still a beast and Ariel is still a mermaid. And the Stitch costume is really really
bad.
THAT IS NOT HOW THE MOVIES ENDED. |

Yeah but if a kid had not seen the movie yet, wouldn't truthiness spoil the ending?

I watched Beauty and the Beast with Naj last night. Chip seething hate Cut Chip some slack, he spent half the film getting sexually molested by Belle's dad. |

Yeah, the Old Yeller ride would be way depressing.

I never liked the "Dead Bambi's mom" costume.
(Bambi's mom represented Jewish mothers to Walt.) |

I figured the B&B dance sequence was homage to SLEEPING BEAUTY, which is probably one of the more classic scenes from a Disney film. Still I had no idea
that so much of Robin Hood party bits was taken from Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. And the similarities between JUNGLE BOOK and GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE were
a nice surprise.
