They believe their own hype, that's the main problem. Like I said about Idol after it became so popular, they take themselves WAY too seriously! Get over yourselves.

Simon is there for the paycheck and I doubt he gives a shit if people criticize the show or any of the performances. He'd never get into a petty argument with a fan if they criticized a performance from IGB. I thought the AI judges were bad but then I turned into this show, damn these fucking people.

When a show starts to get really popular, especially a show like this with that many performers (ego x infinity), they lose they damn minds. I hope it doesn't cause this show to completely run off the rails, but if Wednesday night's self congratulatory nonsense after the Cancer Dance is any indication, it ain't looking good.

Leave the competition aspect out of it. Janette and Jason probably had a pretty crappy time at the after-party! I loved the bench routine on the night it premiered. I agree that it was more emotional because we had seen Heidi break down because she didn't think she could pull it off. But then she did an amazing job, and it seemed like Mia and Travis helped bring it out of her. HOWEVER, it was pretty basic, and like the bed routine, sometimes one dancer would just sit on the prop while the other dancer flew around the stage. If you pay attention, the girls in the crowd always go NUTS when the couples do something remotely sexual. And the teens seemed to really respond to the part of the dance where Heidi was under and Travis was over and they touched hands, you know, THROUGH the bench. "Like OMG they want to be together but they can't BE TOGETHER!!!" It's all very Twilight-y. Teen girls love that shit. Ramalama did rule though. Missed Alison! P.S. seaguy I'm a married mom of two, not a straight guy! :)

The sad thing with this show is that, mostly due to ignorance, people are VERY lenient with crappy classical or social dance routines, but are extremely unforgiving with more recent genres. So Evan gets away with a lackluster performance in his Rhumba (my latino friend said, "I don't even know dance but know enough to tell you that is not a good Rhumba... his face was horrible), and Melissa gets spanked for not being hard enough in some of her routines. BOTH accusations are correct, but people are only willing to be easy on one of the two... but then,. that is the history of this show.

This whole season has been lackluster, so in reality Katie's mediocre Judy Garland tribute was perfect for this season. The person who deserves the criticism is Nigel for doing his best to ruin what was once a great show. He needs to learn to shut his mouth, quit going personal on his critiques, be more objective and quit playing favorites, quit lusting after young female dancers, quit being a homophobe and either get his teeth fixed or stop with the open smiles. This would make the world a better place.

Remove this ad The sad thing is, I AGREE that shows like this should be lauded for introducing dance that most might not see. The fact that they have to have every guest judge say that in an obviously teleprompted way, however, makes it seem like bullshit even when it is not. The other problem? They spend ten minutes on each judge (same prob Idol has) instead of having more dance. Whittle it down to two judges: one recurring, one guest, and you will liely have a nice little shift that would put things in a better perspective. It would also be nice to have a show where people compete with others in THEIR OWN genre. Then, people would see what dancing is meant to be. I mean... Mary saying she has seen the best dance on her life on this program throughout the years? A woman who has been a professional in her field? PUH_LEASE!
