Doesn't matter what the excuses are. The ratings keep diving, while BB10 ratings continued to improve.

Another unsolicited suggestion. Put a feature on the Reloader or Real Player to choose the Mute, but have that automatically un-Mute as soon as that horrid
music stops playing.

Just for some comments I want to respond to: BB2 cast wasn't that dumb... They were playing a game that they never played before. Season 4, 5, 6, and 9 (maybe 8 too) were worse. WTF? So, your conclusion, almost every single season has been dumber than this cast's. Uh, yeah, okay. The only ones ED intimidated were the women. And the women viewers love him for it. I know. It's really embarrassing to see hausfraus like JaniStoleMyDoll continue to worship a guy who was clearly misogynistic, verbally abusive, deadbeat, and an all out loser. I guess to them that's "bad ass" but to me it's just embarrassing that there's women here who actually found that behavior appealing. |

Despite (or because of) drawing headlines for a few controversial editing decisions, CBS' "Big Brother" continued its modest performance,
slipping another tenth on Sunday from its last episode and down a couple tenths from its time-period premiere last week. The episode tied as the show's
lowest-rated ever.
"After 11 seasons, "Big Brother" is edging into a ratings territory where many broadcast reality programs don't come back from. Which makes this editing flap all the more perplexing. Fans are bashing CBS for editing out several comments from the broadcast version -- a racial slur, a homophobic term and a "sexually insulting word" to describe host Julie Chen. On one hand, "Brother" is in a uniquely difficult position here. They're the only broadcast reality show where fans critique the editing process by watching live streams online. Normally producers can alter stories to a ridiculous degree. On "Brother," every decision gets second guessed by obsessive fans. Still, that's the price a network pays for offering those streams to begin with. http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/07/big-brother-ratings-slip-after-editing-controversy.html |

Lydia really wants to stay off the block. She had another "session" with Jessie last night around 3:30 A.M.
Jessie spent the next 15 minutes brushing his teeth. You do the math. |

BB8: 6.64 million 2.5 BB9: 6.15 million 2.3 BB11: 6.15 million 2.0 BB10: 6.09 million 2.1 And, remember, those numbers were almost up to BB8 levels until this past week when the ratings dropped in the mid 5 million viewers. Like I said, BB11 has had higher ratings overall than BB10. Those are the facts. |

Regaurding BB 10.
http://www.realityblurred..._Aug_18_ratings_olympics NBC's Olympics coverage from Beijing has ruled prime-time television for more than a week now, as it pulls in roughly the same number of viewers most nights that American Idol does for its finales. Yesterday, NBC said that its "10-day average primetime viewership is 29.8 million"; 31.66 million people watched Idol's finale. But one show has been able to stand up to those talented athletes and their so-called athleticism: the challenging physical and mental games known as Big Brother 10. Yes, the lowest common denominator of summer TV is basically the one series standing up to television with actual value. In fairness, most other broadcast TV shows have been reruns, so CBS' summer reality show is pretty much the only option, with some exceptions. Last night, 6.39 million people watched, down a little from then season-high ratings earlier this month. Media Life cites ratings among 18- to 49-year-olds (in a way that requires a mathematical brain or some super-familiarity with ratings data to comprehend), but notes that Sunday's "edition was actually up 21 percent from the previous week, and Thursday's 'Brother' showed an increase over the previous week as well. Nearly every other show has been flat or down since the Olympics began." As TV By the Numbers points out, "The Big Brother faithful may only number in the six millions, but they are very faithful and watch a show that hardly costs anything to produce three times a week." |
