I really liked the Kayla/Kupono waltz and wanna see it again.
*no one remembers* |

I remember (and disagree); it was shoeless (cop-out) and Kupono seemed shaky when he had to really support/lift Kayla. Not that great; no where close to the
best viennese waltz this show has seen.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this, but did it bug anyone else when Mary was like "Don't just vote based on tonight; look all the way back
to the auditions." All I could think of was:
Brandon/Kayla/Evan: Wow, cool audition. Jeanine/Melissa/Ade... file not found. Seriously though, how stupid is it to tell us to evaluate a dancer's abilities based on something that was unfairly (for those dancers), withheld from us. It's almost as bad as Nigel lamenting Jeanine's lack of exposure in the top 20 episode. |

Melissa and Ade - Dead Daddy Got Breast Cancer DanceI still think it should be called 2 boobs and one less breast dance. How does that fat ass Doriana make up these insane routines. I bet she never danced anything close to that difficulty or speed. She is probably torturing all her minions with everything she couldn't handle. Brandon and Janette disco still solidly in the lead. Janette just gets disco. It looked like Kayla actually fell out of one of the lifts and they were trying to recover or was it just my imagination?? It was still great just not Janette fantastic. I really enjoyed the all male routine. And I thought that was Evan's stand out performance, he finally seemed to have a different feel to his dancing, and that is the first time I can say that this season. Such perfection in their synchronicity. The rest of the night was a huge bore without JANETTE... I want an all-stars season right away so that we can have Janette back NOW!! |

I think Janette was really good and strong tonight. Kayla was more animated than I have seen her. Brandon was not as annoying as usual to me. And Jeanine's
brother is a budding gay.
So apparently the other Gene Kelly hoofer (the good one) is going to be on tour in some kind of dance off with Evan. |

So first Brandon was an arrogant asshole, but now he has low self-esteem and we are supposed to feel sorry for him?
This is reaching ANTM-levels of awful. |

The only one who deserves to win is Brandon. Has not dropped a single dance. Neither has Kayla. Those 2 are final 2 material. I hope Ade and Jeanine make it to
top 4. I don't see why anyone thinks Evan's so great. He dances heavy and uses his face to get votes. Suck it Evan. And I don't get the hate for
Ade...he's a great dancer.

Rewatched the routines and I have to say the Kayla/Brandon contemporary was far and away the best of the night. I loved how it didn't have a lot going on
(bench, door, bed) so you could just really appreciate the movement. Kayla's lines were insane. her height and body shape looked great in the routine. If
Brandon were just a teeny bit taller it would've been undeniable magic.
Besides that, the other two standouts for me were Evan/Melissa's Broadway and Kayla/Brandon's Disco. Jeanine and Ade really disappointed. OH AND LMAO @ the skanky powerpuff girls exercise video routine the girls were given. XD I adored the guys routine and liked the girls routine for laffos. Evan and Kayla's solos > all. |

BOYS' ROUTINE - What I liked about this routine was that Sonya's intentions were so clear that it was
EASY to see the major mistakes each of the dancers made (e.g. failing to control the freeze for one of her tableaus). I counted one major error for Brandon,
one for Evan, and SIX for Ade. Beyond that, Ade brought the least personality or charisma to the table. Anybody who doesn't think that Ade is the worst
dancer left need only watch this routine. I hate Lil C.
ADE & JEANINE: Samba - I'm not sure how much of this had to do with the fact that Louis wanted a "non-traditional" samba, but I thought the partnering SUCKED. They never seemed to have any proper distance or a strong frame. They were either all over each other and looking sloppy, or they were outside of the correct range and having to go off center to catch hands. Individually, they were each convincing enough (Jeanine, more so), but as a pair, they really sucked. I despise Lil C. KAYLA - Solo - She had a good solo last week. This one seemed about the same. It was fine. I was bored. I actually think she would be more successful at evoking emotion with a slower tempo. EVAN & MELISSA: Broadway - This is exactly the kind of Tyce choreography I hate. Why does he think that "Broadway" translates into people acting like buffoons and nincompoops?! Evan actually handled the style okay - his own style and personality is somewhat cartoonish, so it wasn't so hard to make the leap. Melissa looked completely awkward and disingenuous. How can you ask a woman of substance and dignity to act like she just popped out of a Loony Toons cartoon and not seem ridiculous? I didn't believe her in the actions, so I didn't believe the actions. I have to disagree with Nigel, though. I actually thought there was a lot of really tough technique in there. It was the fact that both dancers made it LOOK easy that caused him to say what he did. That is a great reflection on them as dancers. Does anybody else find it odd that this is the third week IN A ROW that Melissa has done a piece choreographed by Tyce? I can't stand Lil C. ADE: Solo - I'm glad he changed his solo style up and focused more on lyrical rather than acrobatic movement. He danced much better with the music this week. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the indiscrete images from those inappropriate pictures out of my mind, and I kept expecting him to finish the routine by landing with his butthole pointed to the camera. BRANDON & KAYLA: Contemporary - It's about time Brandon got contemporary! It's absolutely shocking to me that he's had to wait 8 weeks to get his specialty (none of the others did). And Kayla's had it a half dozen times, it seems. You could see in this routine just what a masterful technician he is. I wasn't crazy about the choreography, because it focused too much on scrunched bodies rather than beautiful lines. Tookey had Brandon doubled over and shortened so much of the time, but he even gave the illusion of length and extension when he was bent at the waist. I realized that what makes Kayla such a beautiful dancer is the perfect proportions of her body. What she lacks in personality, she compensates for with pure aesthetic grace. Lil C is a moron. MELISSA: Solo - This was my favorite solo we've seen from Melissa. I appreciated the slinkiness and the control. Other than not liking a few of the staccato toe hops that fought against the style, I thought it was beautiful. JEANINE & ADE: Hip Hop - I don't get it. I guess in this season of completely lackluster hip-hop, that was better than average, but compared to GOOD hip-hop, it stunk. The partnering wasn't there. The acting wasn't there. If not for the cheesy props (the eviction notice, the frown-y faces), we'd have no idea what was going on. And I didn't see the down-and-dirty groove the judges referenced. I guess Ade was slightly better than Jeanine, here, but I thought they both stunk. Lil C SUCKS! BRANDON: Solo Wow! MELISSA & EVAN: Quick Step - Once again, I'm really out of step with the judges, but I enjoyed this. I loved the styling, particularly Melissa's dress. I loved the choreography - particularly a section where Evan led Melissa with a hand at the small of her back, but their other hands separate. Heck, I even loved the Lindy-hop/Charleston section Nigel put down. I thought Evan brought the energy and the fun, and Melissa just glowed. Anybody who says she can't dance fast is flat-out wrong! It was entertaining. I've found tonight to be the worst performance show of the season, and this is the first routine that made me smile. Lil C is a tool. JEANINE: Solo - This was not so good. The choreography was pretty elementary, and the execution seemed half-assed. She danced heavy and didn't get much elevation, either when planted or in the air. Probably her worst solo of the season. EVAN: Solo - This wasn't as good as his first solo, but better than his second. Evan has a lightness - a weightlessness, if you will - when he dances in this style that is unmatched by any other dancer, male or female, on the show. I like it. KAYLA & BRANDON &: Disco - This was certainly good, but it wasn't as good as Brandon's earlier disco with Janette. I think it came down to trust and chemistry. These two have only started working together, and they haven't found that quite as much as was needed. I kept seeing little "checks" before they got into the lifts. I also think that Doriana needs to stop thinking about topping herself with difficulty each time, and instead, bring more DANCE in among all the tricks. I will say, though, that the double death drop was a cool touch. Lil C is a douche. GIRLS' ROUTINE - I loved the concept and the choreography. The girls were just a little off on the execution and the unison (although they got better as the piece progressed). I think that Jeanine stood out for the wrong reasons with the most out-of-sync moments, Melissa disappeared a bit, and Kayla dominated. Lil C must die! Pairs Rankings: 1. MELISSA & EVAN - Quick Step 2. KAYLA & BRANDON - Disco 3. BRANDON & KAYLA - Contemporary 4. JEANINE & ADE - Hip Hop 5. ADE & JEANINE - Samba 6. EVAN & MELISSA - Broadway (but it's TYCE'S fault, not the dancers) Solo Rankings: 1. BRANDON 2. EVAN 3. MELISSA 4. ADE 5. KAYLA 6. JEANINE Ade needs to go home five weeks ago this week, and after her worst week by far, Jeanine needs to join him. I have a bone to pick with Mary. I would prefer it if the judges merely critiqued individual performances and didn't bring up the larger context of the competition during their critiques. However, if they are going to do so, they need to actually have some balls and take a stand. Mary complained about Janette leaving after never having taken a wrong step in the competition. Then, she proceeded to say the exact same thing about Kayla and Melissa. Does that mean that she thought Jeanine should have left? Not based on what she said last week! Then, after the Broadway number she made the "Get me to the FINALS on time" comment to Evan and Melissa, and after the hip-hop number, she told Ade and Jeanine they wouldn't have to worry about "eviction". So does that mean she thinks Brandon and Kayla will be going? That doesn't make any sense based on what she said to them! Basically, she's spewing a lot of nonsense. A man and a woman have to be cut each week. Therefore, somebody deserving to stay automatically necessitates somebody else deserving to go. Don't talk about who deserves to stay unless you actually have a point of view about who deserves to go, crazy lady! |

Really missed Jason and Janette this week..
Think Ade/Melissa might leave tomorrow..Brandon's solo was awesome. I would love a Brandon/Jeanine final 2, and I think Kayla's hit a stride lately, and is gaining a bit of momentum.

Only got to see the girls routine and the recap at the end. Did I miss anything special? No, didn't think so.
And it would be so sweet to see Melissa make the top 4 just so I can watch all of you lose your shit more than you already are. <333 Jeanette |

Thanks GFM. I just found that I didn't care enough to turn on the tv to watch and when I did, I didn't even rewind the tivo to the beginning. So not
interested anymore that Jeanette and Jason are gone.
