If you're going to make something we can never make at home it should be more exciting than a sandwich

Jeffrey really should win, he's a billion times better and has a much better concept.
Send him to a bunch of places across the globe and you basically have any of those popular food shows that are on the travel channel. |

Ick. That woman lives near me and now I won't stop hearing about her. Her show will just be another Food Network show I avoid.

I thought Jeffrey was gone to win when Melissa said she would want to lose to him twice and he never responded by saying the same thing.
I'm glad she won and but mostly just glad Jeffrey lost, yay! |

YAY I'm at peace with this outcome. If it couldn't be Debbie then I'm OK with this. Jeffrey's concept was bullshit, Alton came up with it and
was just lame. Where the hell could the average person get harissa or whatevah the fuck that was anyways.

I figured for a long time that the stepford woman was going to win, but when I saw how much better his pilot was, I held out some hope. Damn. What is so great about dredged chicken breasts and au-grauten potatoes? I make that shit about once a week, and she didn't tell me one thing that I didn't already know (well, other than using a muffin pan which sounds to me like a bad idea--the potatoes would probably dry out faster.) I want to eat that sandwich that Jeffrey made. |

I doubt I'll watch Melissa's show. Why the hell would I need kitchen survival tips? I loved Jeffrey's smile, but hers was blinding me.

Well, I expected Melissa to win so I am not surprised, but I really liked Jeffrey's concept a lot better. I would love to see that show played out...but
alas, Melissa and her food-that-I-can-already-make and her giant horse teeth won. Meh, whatever.

CSCin3D wrote:This was the missing piece of Jeffery's show for me and I'm surprised they didn't bring it up in discussions (but then it really would have been a give-away that Melissa wins). Where does one buy his ingredients. A simple "you get it in this kind of grocery store" or "if you can't find harissa, you can substitute ____; it has the same kick & color" would be essential for this show to work and last. But I agreed that after watching his pilot, I wanted to go out and find some harissa. Melissa's show? old woman with no kids that I am, ain't gonna be watching. Doesn't Rachel Ray do kinda the same thing? |

Loved how they edited out the fact that she kept bringing up lactation during the filming of so many episodes, lol. They obviously wanted her to win. They
could have easily edited out Debbie's lying but must not have wanted her to win.
Jeffrey's sandwich looked delicious but yeah, where the fuck were we the regular folk supposed to find these obscure ingredients. |

I really liked the concept of Jeffrey's show but I think Melissa will probably have a larger appeal to the masses, so I think they made the right decision.
I'd love to see Jeffrey get a show at some point in the future.

I have the show taped later but I had to take a peek in here.
I wanted Jeffrey to win. But I guess Melissa would have a bigger audience. |

In four seasons of watching this show, I have never, not once even considered watching any one of the contestant's shows, and that was true about this
season until tonight. I would DVR Jeffrey's show every week. I love trying new ingredients and always see things like harissa and wonder what the heck I
could do with it.
Alton Brown is about technique, Jeffrey's pilot was about an unusual ingredient. I love Alton and can easily see both these shows complementing but in no way overlapping each other. I hope down the road they do what they did with Adam (I think?) who now hosts Will Work for Food and give Jeffrey a show, too. |
