The beginning of the season was unspoiled a decent amount as well.

You somehow answer your own question. Amanda reach the final in both her season with castaways she made early alliances at the start of the game. Amanda did screw up in front of the jury in China. However Amanda didn't lose in Micronesia because of a bad final jury speech. She lost because Parvati played better game. Jeff Probst commented on Kimmel, "Amanda knows how to play ''Survivor''. She knows how to build an alliance, how long to keep it, when to get rid of it. If you were one of Guatemala castaway would you give your vote to castaway that had played the game before and had experience over you? I would find it hard.

At least the others were emotional, engaging or at times damn right annoying. I would rather have that than someone who quietly goes along in the game. If you are going to give someone a third chance, ONLY if they really were gamers and interesting people. The ONLY one I can think of is Cirie. But it all comes down to personal tastes.

BRob, Jerri, Parv, Jlew, Rupert kind of, Steph, Cirie...i don't give a fuck about the second timers on the list (Sierra, Sugar, Coach, etc). I thought they were overexposed and annoying on their own seasons, both of which aired less than a year ago.

Ethan's condition is very treatable and he has a high chance of recovery: between 90 and 95%. Hodgkins lymphoma is treatable both during the early and late stages of the disease, and most likely, he's going to be fine after treatment. Jenna's mom, on the other hand, was literally on her deathbed when they left for All-Stars 5 or 6 years ago, and was not getting any better. I'm not saying that "Jenna is definitely there because Ethan will be fine," I'm just saying the circumstances are very different this time around. She can decide for herself what's the right thing to do.
