I think the thing that bothers me about contestants bitching about the show is that I believe you have to be incredibly naive or stupid to go on the show now
and not believe these things are happening. There have been so many times where contestants have talked about not getting to sing the songs they want, VFTW
did a whole thing on a bunch of good singers being cut by the producers before they even made it to the judges. The judges themselves go out of their way to
pimp some and diminish others. If you go in thinking it's a simple talent competition, you're a moron.
Also, all the bitter contestants are not bitching about the system. They're complaining that the system didn't work for them. And wasn't this at least the second time he auditioned? Again, I fail to believe that he had no idea about any of this (especially the contract; that's well known to be a rough contract). I get being mad you're not a chosen one, didn't get as much air time, felt slighted, etc. But I also feel that the people that go on this show should be grateful, for the most part. Regardless of how they do, most of them are getting exposure they never would've gotten otherwise. And if Ju'not really thought he was slighted, use it as motivation to show everyone how good you are. Don't come off as some crybaby that's regurgitating information we all already knew about. |

If it's rigged.. then how did Sanjaya make it so far on season 4?

pjadedd is right-the show has been on many seasons-have these contestants not watched. you have to be living under a rock somewhere to realize what the deal
is. if you sign up for this, 19 entertainment is going to own you for at least a year which is a small price to pay for all the $, fame and exposure you will
get, but there are always sour grapes from the people who didnt make it. there is a reason for that, you either sucked or you didnt "play the game"
and do what 19 entertainment says. on one hand you want to win but you are not doing what you need to to do that and then you wonder why you were sent home.
incredibly naive. i still dont get the whole tatinna thing to be repetitive though, she WOULD have killed to make it on the show and do whatever the judges and
19 told her to do, including embarass herself weekly if need be. i guess someone behind the scenes must have really hated her.

I think Tatiana was desperate (or played the role), but was also a bit of a loose cannon. While everyone pretty much knows all the shit Ju'not has been
saying, it's like the rule is that everyone knows things aren't as they seem, but you're not supposed to talk about it. Tatiana seemed like
someone that would say anything to anyone that would listen.

I don't believe the show is rigged in the technical sense, but there's definitely hardcore manipulation going on, and future contestants need to be prepared for this before if they decide to go through with it. The show is approaching 10 years being on the air shortly, so there's no excuse for ignorance. |

Not rigged. And the judges actually give their honest opinions. Now I'm really glad J'un'ot didn't last longer.

In some ways, the most valuable input into the AI corruption comes when somebody like Chris Daughtry when he observes something that happens on the show, indicates slightly that it was corrupt, and then abruptly self-censors because he fears reprisals. That happened during Paulagate. Everybody knows the whole business is completely slimy, but they sign on the dotted line anyway because there's the CHANCE that it might work out for them, somehow. It did for Kris Allen, though he was not favored by the judges. It has resulted in a record deal for Castro, though he was actually mistreated by the system - and his kid brother watched all the shit they flung at bro last year and tried out anyway. Even if they don't like you, there's that off hope that somehow, your career might advance if you can endure what they do to you. In Ju'Not's case, it did not happen. It wasn't that he was beaten by Scott, the headline-grabbing disabled guy. He was beaten by JORGE. Look, if you can't outsing Scott MacIntyre (whom I actually like, at least in certain songs) or Jorge Nunez, how amazing are you, anyway? And hey, the system got shot in the balls this year. Kris beat Adam. I kinda wish the revolution had happened a year other than this one, but I am glad it happened at all. |
