At the end of the day, it was her that was being un-reasonable. If she honestly thinks she can make 10 million somewhere else, then she made the right decision for her... but to ask for $20 million in this economic climate when she knows how much they just paid Cowell and Seacrest (whether you feel those numbers are accurate for either of them is irrelevant - they are in place), she couldn't expect to get too far.
15/16 million (how much Seacrest makes) seems like it would have been a strong compromise - I get the feeling Paula wouldn't go for that.
There's no way Paula was worth nearly as much as Simon or Ryan.
True, but if Abdul accounted that into her decision, I have to stay the course with its her fault and not the show's. Part of the reasoning why FOX belives Seacrest is so important to Idol is because of all the outside gigs.
They offered her something like a 30 percent increase and she wouldn't have it. Is she at least as important to the show as Seacrest is? Absolutley. I truly think if she negotiated for 15 mil a deal would have been done. But if the reports of the 20 million asking price are true, it has to be on her.
